Anyone here watch this show? It was one of my favorites but lack of a large enough audience caused TNT to cancel it after just two seasons. I’m praying that another network picks it up because it truly deserves another chance. Ray Romano, Andre Braugher and Scott Bakula were the stars. I rank the acting and writing right up there with such shows as The Wire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Friday Night Lights.

I think the first season is out on DVD so I imagine the second one will follow. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth adding to your Netflix queue or watching online at TNT.com.

I just started watching this online and have only gotten through the first 5 episodes. I like it but am not surprised it was cancelled. I’m a fan of Ray Romano’s writing (he is the show’s creator) and thought Everyone Loves Raymond was hilarious. The thing I like about his writing is he is able to hone in on those everyday situations we all face and find the humor in them. Hope he comes up with another series.

I really wanted to like this show, since I love the three leads. But I found it slow and dull. Couldn’t get into it at all, and I’m not surprised it got cancelled.

^I’m just at the part that all these good-looking single women are throwing themselves at him. I wonder how realistic that is…are single middle-aged women that aggressive? I do have one widowed friend who will flirt with every available man out there (and she dates a lot!) but she has an extremely extroverted personality and has no problem dating several men at once. However, a lot of divorced women in my age group don’t seem to date at all.

I do find Ray Romano appealing also, in a strange sort of way. I think he pulls off the vulnerable divorced dad role quite well in this series.

Not to go off topic but…I watched a few episodes of “Californication” last year and was somewhat disturbed by the way they portrayed women in the series. There was always a gaggle of women throwing themselves at David Duchovny’s character. Same is true for Scott Bakula’s of “Men of a Certain Age”. Do single women really act that way? I’ve been married for 22 years and I have a hard time relating to that.

^I think there’s a contingent of women who do so to speak, throw themselves at men. I’ve seen it, and I hear that from single men I have met. Many of them talk of how it’s a turn off and kind of intimidating, but it seems to be real.

Sorry to hear this - One of the leads lives near us and his son & mine were elementary school classmates. Great guy, however I agree with the comment that it was a bit slow. Not really a ‘guys’ show.
