Merit Pitt HS Class 2025 College 2029

Congratulations!! Would you mind sharing your kid’s stats? Wondering if we can realistically expect anything. Older sibling received a really nice merit package a few years ago but I keep hearing that it’s tougher than in years past

Thanks!

Over 4.0 UW GPA and near perfect SATs. Bunch of 5’s on APs. Good student at a good public school. I have no idea what factors into a merit award but my kid is very well-rounded and good at taking tests.

We’re still waiting - I think S25 was accepted maybe three weeks ago? My older son (HS class of 22) got a very nice award from Pitt - but he was engineering school whereas this one is Dietrich. At the time, I heard that engineering gave higher $$ than other programs, but who knows if that was true then, let alone now.

Just this evening my child got a scholarship email from Dietrich. $15K/year ($60K total.) We are out of state, and she was accepted in mid-Sept. Very excited! Hope others hear scholarship news, too.

Has anyone in-state heard about merit? We’re hoping for something from the school of nursing :crossed_fingers:

I have the same question about in-state merit for my D25 who was accepted a few weeks ago to Dietrich. :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

Has anyone receiving merit this early applied test optional? Of those who posted stats/profiles for students receiving merit here, most included SAT or ACT scores so I was curious if those high stat students with standardized scores are awarded merit first and if merit is less likely, but still possible as a test optional admit.

DS25 has got the admission on 10/24 into Swanson. In State. Test reported. No merit aid yet. Hopeful and waiting…

I got an email from Pitt, encouraging my DS25 to apply for Stamps Scholarship and the Nordenberg Leadership Scholars Program! Does every parent get this email?
TIA.

I received that email as well. I imagine that they send this information to all admitted in-state students.
