People were still getting merit offers into March last year, including people who had already been accepted by now (and I know because my S24 was one of them).
I think a combination of who is more likely to post here and maybe some behind the scenes reasons for lulls in their process can sometimes make it seem like the process has gone from a full on to a full off. But in retrospect, usually that ends up being more of a slowing down than a full stop, until they truly are more or less done in March.
Just got an email today telling me important information was in my portal; accepted to the school September 23rd. $5000 a year, in state. Economics/math major.
My daughter was also accepted 9/23 to Dietrich in Pre-Allied Health intended major; in state/test optional Update in Portal tonight and $2000/yr (8K total)
D25 applied end of September to SCI for comp sci, got in mid October, received merit now, 15k per year. 4.3 gpa, 34 ACT, 2 dual enrollment, 6 APs, OOS.
My son is also waiting to see if he gets some merit scholarship. Applied to Honors college too. Its been a month now since acceptance to Swanson. The document center is no longer there. So, it seem we just have to wait for emails. Not too many updates here for the past few weeks on merit. Let’s hope for the best. Otherwise Pitt is too costly for OOS.
The 2 students I know of who received the early notice submitted honors essay at the time of their initial application to Pitt. One in Sept, the other in October. Both OOS, one received $10k merit and the other $15k (not engineering)
My D25 also received the “pilot program” exceptance. She applied at the time she submitted her common app Mid-Oct, was accepted exactly 3 weeks later with $10k/yr merit. Math major. She is very excited as this makes it one of her top 3.
