Early notification of acceptance to honors.
Maybe the pilot piece is to see whether early notification affects yield?

Maybe the pilot piece is to see whether early notification affects yield?
hi, all. can we please see some stats for the people accepted into the pilot honors program? thanks!
My daughter got her honors notice last night. we’re out of state. $15/yr merit for Dietrich. 33 ACT and 4.2 GPA. Full IB diploma.
It is nice to see the honors admissions. My son was admitted early Nov into Swanson. No honors notice yet. Got some merit aid. In-state. Is there any Engineering major who received honors notice already?
the two I know of:
2 B’s, the rest A’s (combo of A-/A/A+) and TO
all A’s (mostly A+, some A, no A-) and 36
She did the honors application when she submitted her regular application in early September. We figure get it all done at once!
She did submit her test scores. 1400 SATs, she also submitted AP scores and I think they were five fives and one four. She’s a good writer so I assume her essay was pretty well done. She’s got a 3.9 something unweighted GPA, and has a very rigorous course load.
So excited for all these other kids who got the same notification! Fingers crossed for those still waiting.
Thanks for posting Honors Decision. It was in my son’s portal but we did not receive email. He just checked the portal and it was there! Yay!
is there a separate section for the honors decision in the portal?
No it’s just under the decision letter. He found the email though in his junk folder though after I typed my message above. They said he was receiving early and most Honors decisions would be March 1st.
yes, I received the email last night. here are some of my stats:
97/100 GPA, 34 ACT, 10 APs, 2 varsity sports, accepted to Swanson for Bioengineering on 11/7, received $20k/year award on 11/19
my daughter got into swanson for bioengineering and got 80k!! she has a 4.0 UW, 5.2W, 10aps, and unique ecs. she got in test optional
Where or when did she get her scholarship $ email? Or portal ?
Did any nursing students get an invitation to interview for the UPMC Scholars scholarship??
My daughter got an invite today and I have no idea how competitive it is.
i didn’t even realize my daughter could have done test optional for honors…wondering if we shot ourselves in the foot there
Wondering the same, my daughter is in-state and applied test optional back in August. Admitted 9/23 and received her merit award 11/26. I do see that upper level students can also apply for Honors College so it may be something she can consider in the future. Does anyone know if merit could or would be increased with Honors College acceptance? I.e., do all Honors College acceptances receive academic merit awards?
As I understand it, there is not necessarily merit directly linked to being in honors aside from very competitive ones like the Chancellors
Applied in October, accepted around 4 weeks later, then merit 4 weeks after that.
College of Science and Information
OOS $15k a year-$60k total.
I am super thankful but was hoping the $20k might have worked out to make it closer to my in-state schools. I am excited to visit in a few months.
4.0UW, 8AP/DE, 35ACT, lots of ECs, did not apply to honors
Happy new year! Is there a specific day of the week when merit notifications are sent to students?
My daughter’s merit notice came on a Tuesday 7pm-ish email notice that there was an update to her Portal; this was 2 months after her acceptance.
Anyone hear from Pitt on scholarships recently?
