Totally agree. And I wonder how much controversy there would have been if a young black female singer had done the twerking. Is that more “authentic”? Less gross?

Seriously, I would jump right on stage and do every bit of it for a billion dollars. This wasn’t porn. And if my kids were offered a billion for it I’d help them on stage.

I can’t help but wonder how many creepy deranged stalkers have surfaced since this show. She must have quite a following by now. I know many celebrities have personal security, but if she were my daughter, this would keep me up at night. There are so many crazy people out there and I’m sure that her on-stage antics push their buttons. This must be a huge concern of the people around her. I know it may be a fine line, but it just seems more sensible to dial it back a bit. A while back, a fan grabbed Beyonce while she was on-stage - she was quite upset and the guy was taken out. I’m sure celebrities like to think that their fans are a certain demographic, but there is no question that very sensational behavior also attracts an unwanted element.

Also, I wish Miley would keep her tongue in her mouth.

I don’t think think that behavior of celebrities needs to be sensationalistic to attract frightening people.
Heck, attractive young people, especially women, may attract stalker types without any notorious behavior at all.

That is true, emerald, but I do believe that Miley must attract much larger numbers than the odd stalker here and there, which must make protecting her very difficult. I know of other celebrities whose lives are really impacted by one or two stalkers, so imagine dealing with even more.

I saw nothing racially offensive , but then I just recently learned what " twerking " was…actually from her previous twerking which offended some African American women who claimed she was trying to " act " black

I just found her performance offensive because I am a mother… a mother of girls. I would not encourage them to behave like whores for a price, nor would I help them do this for any amount of money

I admit I didnt watch her performance because I think Robin Thicke is disgusting & Im not too happy with Macklemore for having his picture taken with him either.
Any woman who would give that mysogynist the time of day needs counseling.

I would not use the word whore to describe Cyrus, actually I find that word so offensive that I wouldnt use it to describe an escort.
I also find Thicke much more repulsive.

So now he’s backpeddling? Kind of reminds me of the Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction.” Didn’t Justin also let Janet take all the heat for that incident?

If this performance had been well received, I wonder if he would have not only praised it, but taken credit for it. Of course, that’s all speculation on my part.

Miley’s parents definitely are not happy about the performance. That’s a fact- whatever is reported in the media to the contrary or whatever they say as far as supporting her.

Robin Thicke is a misogynist because of both the lyrics and video for “Blurred Lines” and his disgusting response to the criticism. Just google it, or the thread on it.

If MOMW doesn’t want to discuss her source, I can understand that. I don’t find it that hard to believe that a father would feel some distress/worry/angst about his daughter doing that kind of performance. Especially if there is a feeling that she is getting advice from people who do not have her best interest in mind i.e. don’t really love her as a person but see her as more of a money making opportunity.
