^^Yes, this I think will most likely occur
On the topic of passion, I do plant science. Qualified for ISEF this year, and hoping to return to research this summer. I’m currently learning python so I can use bioinformatics skills in my research this summer!
Just curious, but what states are you guys from? - Or which countries if you do not reside in the US.
i’m from ohio
Still nothing… Why can’t they just send an update?
I’m from Washington state. The delays are just annoying ;-; I feel like there’s such a slim chance for acceptance they ought to just rip the bandaid off
I know right, at least just tell us if they’re going to delay it to end of May or something so we don’t have to constantly refresh our email.
I’m from New Jersey, not the urban areas though, I live on the southern peninsula and there’s almost zero opportunity for competitions, research, or internships down here :/, but I do what I can with programming projects and I’m hoping colleges can see that.
I feel the same way about opportunities. I live in a very rural area and they are sometimes hard to come by.
Also what is ISEF? I applied to another program for bioinformatics this summer but haven’t heard anything yet and I am really interested in bioinformatics.
I’m from MA, but live in the suburbs. My school does’t emphasize or celebrate STEM as much as I like it to, which is odd being in a tech state. That’s why I really wanted to join this program to immerse myself more into STEM and be with other STEM minded people. Also, hopefully they send out an update soon.
I’m from Idaho so it’s really hard to find opportunities around me. I applied to Clarks Scholars as well but they cancelled the program this year due to coronavirus
Where is this update???
Not happening.
It’s the International Science and Engineering Fair! I’m from Texas, and was also intending on applying for Clarks but chose not to since my research is already funded at my local uni. And oof, I think I have it bad with limited opportunity here in a small Texas town. Idaho must be really limited.
okay, so the website (if you’re logged out) changed from saying “decisions will be released in late april” from “we don’t know when we’re going to release them” sometime today; we’ve been unequivocally shafted.
Fs in the chat guys
Here’s exactly what they said:
“At this time, we do not have a specific date when decisions will be released. We appreciate your incredible patience as we navigate unexpected challenges in our typical operations brought by the impacts of COVID-19.”
that’s sad, but at least they gave us an update.
well that sucks
i do still think we should have something by the 20th of may though? like it wouldn’t make sens to release decisions after cause most students have to reply to other programs by then.
