More snow Monday?

NW CT here. We just cleared about eight inches of snow. But wait…we are supposed to get 3-5 more before this ends…and if I were betting, I’d say we will get the five inches more.

No school here. Businesses are encouraged to not require employees to be on the roads. No one in this house is going out today.

If I were betting, I’d say tomorrow there will be school delays.

Oh…forgot to mention…there is a very thin layer of ice under the snow…DH tried to move a car up the driveway. that was a huge failure!

Just came in from a couple of hours of clearing snow to learn that six offers are being presented for the house we want in San Diego. It only came on the market four days ago. Doesn’t look promising, but at least we know we tried. And that we picked a popular house!

San Diego sounds lovely right about now.

I took my dog out in the wind and snow and she looked at me like I was crazy. Tried to drag…I mean encourage her down the walkway and she refused. Ended up peeing on the front porch! That was a first but I thought it was a great compromise.

^ My little dog just peed on the snow covered deck.

Snowing very lightly at my house now. I’d say we got 9 inches in total. I don’t expect too much more. Not windy at all, either. Plows shouldn’t have any trouble clearing the roads.

My not-so-little dog has been doing the same thing, EB. The snow is higher than her.

We got about 16 inches total here. My car is stuck in the bottom of the driveway because we attempted to get it out and now it’s not going anywhere. Luckily we live on a “private” dirt road.

We got about three inches, a few hours of rain, then another 2 or 3 inches. Temps are due to plummet tonight.

In the words of a local weather commentator: “Long Island is going to be one big ice rink tomorrow morning!”

I just dug out the cars, the driveway, a few neighbors and the closest fire hydrant. Anything that doesn’t get cleared tonight will look like a scene from Frozen tomorrow.

And, just because memories of Sandy are so fresh, I have the flashlights out. A couple of ice-laden branches can so some serious damage to power lines!

Stay safe and warm, everyone!

CT here. Snow finally stopped about 4:30. We got about 14 inches total. Cleared 8-9 inches this midday…and another 5-6 just now.

And it is bitter cold…17 and windy!

We have at least a foot and it’s still snowing in Boston. And it is noticeably heavier than the bigger storm and quite a bit colder. Not as much fun to shovel.

9" at the airport. Still snowing but very lightly. I checked the airport and there are flights arriving and departing, including Southwest - so I think I will be good to go tomorrow morning, but when we leave for the airport it’s supposed to be in the minuses. :frowning:

Our final total was a foot.

Raise your hand if you’ve had enough snow.

Hand raised. We already have a 90 minute school delay for Tuesday…with a note to check again later as the secondary roads are not good.

DH scheduled to fly out of LGA tomorrow morning. I am hoping that he can.

Well, the forecast was sooooo inaccurate where I am. They predicted 6-10 inches with moderate wind. That’s how the storm looked until about 1:00 this afternoon when the snow and wind picked up considerably. At times this evening it looked and sounded just like last weeks blizzard. We have probably gotten over a foot at this point and it is still snowing. The wind is howling and most of the area schools have cancelled again for tomorrow. During the afternoon, the forecasters started saying “oops, guess that area can expect to get 10-18 inches”.

Not so hard to predict snowfall amounts once they are on the ground.

I think we must have gotten about a foot. Spent a goodly amount of the day driving H to and from work–closed at noon, why not just close all day? Grrr!–moving car stuck at foot of drive to enable plowgal to do the drive, etc.

Astonished by people driving without their lights on in near-whiteout conditions. Things mostly shut down around here.

Over a foot here. School’s been cancelled again for tomorrow. Just looked at the extended forecast. More snow expected on Thursday and possibly Monday. Depending on which model turns out to be right we’ll either get a little snow (the most likely scenario) or another substantial storm. At this point the biggest problem is finding someplace to put all the snow.

It finally has stopped snowing. H is out shoveling. It seems light and very fluffy.

None of the suburban school districts are closed or delayed tomorrow (so far.) A few in the hilltowns have a two hour delay. H said the roads were better coming home this evening then they were this morning.

Checked the airport website and lots of planes arriving and departing tonight and my flight was just posted as “On Time” for tomorrow. Even planes from Chicago and Detroit arriving/departing now.

Emilybee, where are you?

^ I’m in Albany.

Roads fine this morning. Flight on time.

About 10" in central CT, as best as we can estimate given the blowing snow.

I’m raising my hand too, but we seem to be getting some snow every other day. I usually feel better once we hit March 1st, but right now that seems a long way off.
