My son got his too. His audition was terrible though, so the rejection was totally expected!! But he’s just ready for all the decisions to be in so he can be done with the process I think
Same as mine!
Yes! My daughter feels the same!
Curious how everyone views the performance/talent/skill of CURRENT students in a program you’re applying to or are considering attending? We live streamed a Univ of Miami (FL) Class of 2025 showcase event last night and it made us sort of downgrade the chances of my daughter attending there…scholarship money aside. Is that a fair or reasonable program evaluation approach?
Thoughts?
Can totally relate. The minute I walked out of the building I crossed it off as a potential. So the email did not surprise me lolol. Wishing you best of luck!
I think it is an important consideration, but I also think every program has classes/students that can vary. And any school can produce a fantastic performer depending on what the individual puts into it. I think that’s why my son is so adamant about visiting his top choices before making a commitment. He wants to make sure he will be in the best environment for him to succeed. There is so much that goes into this decision and I can definitely see how watching an unimpressive showcase could affect the overall decision
Just got UMiami BFA acceptance!!!
We felt that way about Elon after auditioning & seeing their musical. My daughter was so excited about Elon too. But, we took it off the list immediately at intermission….
Does yours say BFA theatre arts? is that the bfa musical theatre program?
Daughter received her REJECTION email from CMU. No Steel City for her.
My wife and daughter had no such experience at Elon. Go figure
roosevelt decisions are rolling out!
My daughter got her acceptance to Roosevelt today! Still waiting on Hartt. No’s from Monclair and Pace. Accepted to Molloy/CAP21 (now 1st choice), Long Island U, and Roosevelt!
BFA fine arts in musical theater
So much to like about that school. Congratulations! We’re still considering Univ of Miami (FL), too.
Thank you!!
Well said. I agree 100%
i got an acceptance but it says bfa theatre arts, not specifically MT. i’m wondering if it’s because i haven’t gotten my academic decision yet?
That’s interesting. I believe the academic acceptance and artistic acceptance are in the same letter cause I got a presidents scholarship for my academic achievements in my scholarship letter.
It’s a part of it for sure. My kid has been devouring TXST YouTube videos and they do not disappoint. Evaluating all parts of a program is important, though.
