Name A Product You Don’t Get The Hype About

I love pizza, but I don’t get the NY pizza propaganda. It’s fine. I like it. It’s just not special.

Amen to that. I think it’s typically too chewy and lacks sauce. Chicago thin crust is the bomb, imo – crispy and loaded with sauce, cheese, and toppings.

I agree. New Jersey has the best pizza. :sunglasses:

That’s how I feel about Chicago-style pizza.

I hate pork roll, but taylor ham is great and beaches are over rated but the shore is awesome.

Wait…I happen to think New Haven pizza is the best.

Now back to overrated…

Bitcoins and such.

I didn’t get the hype about New Haven pizza (keeping in mind I grew up near the birthplace of Domino’s) but with a New Havenite husband had it so many times that I got to like white pizza with broccoli. I like both thin crust and deep dish Chicago pizza, having lived there for 40 years.

I’m convinced people think the pizza they had in high school and college is the best. So Yalies spread the word and influence. I still remember Pizza Bob’s from Ann Arbor!

You’d generally swap out the wheel + tire, rather than just tire. For example, I have a Camry. It can fit the following wheel + tire combinations. The larger the wheel, the lower profile the tire, so the total height of wheel + tire remains ~constant.

16 inch wheel, with 65R tires (tire sidewall is 65% of width) – Standard on L trim
17 inch wheel, with 55R tires (tire sidewall is 55% of width) – Standard on LE trim
18 inch wheel, with 45R tires (tire sidewall is 45% of width) – Standard on SE trim
19 inch wheel, with 40R tires (tire sidewall is 40% of width) – Standard on XSE trim
20 inch wheel, with 35R tires (tire sidewall is 35% of width) – Aftermarket modification

I wouldn’t expect low profile tires to be more likely to get flats, but they are more likely to deflate fast enough to cause damage, if they have a flat. In my opinion, the bigger risk is potholes. If you hit a pothole at high speed, you are far more likely to damage/break the rim with a low profile tire than with a normal tire…

I expect the main reason people like low profile tires is appearance. Many think the rim looks better than the tire, so car looks better with more rim showing and less tire showing. However, there can be improved handling as profile decreases, particularly if width is increased (common). I personally prefer somewhere in between. Of the 5 Camry wheel+tire options above, my first choice would be 18 inch + 45R.

Not me! I’m from Cleveland! There are a couple of good local places (anyone here know Geracis).

Anyway…I can make pizza so I sort of feel that all carry out pizza is…overrated.

That’s amazing. Imagine going to Tuscany and every female tourist is dressed alike. LOL.

I agree - but then I worked my way through college making pizza. I only just recently started eating it again.

Ice cream scooper here.

That’s the thing about ice cream… even when you go home with fudge sauce in your hair and sprinkles stuck to your uniform- by the next shift, you’re ready to embrace ice cream again. I had hoped that my immersion would prove to be cheap aversion therapy but no.

I could eat ice cream anytime, anywhere… even after looking at, serving, touching, cleaning up from SO MUCH ICE CREAM!

High school, yes. I grew up in New Jersey where we know pizza.

College, nope. I was going to say, that it was because I went to college in Ann Arbor, and I had that thought honestly before I read the end of your comment. Always couldn’t wait to get back home to real pizza. I only had the original Domino’s a couple times, mostly had pizza at Cottage Pizza or that place on South U. None of it was as good as home. And here in NJ, I’d cut off an arm before ordering Domino’s.

Raw oysters and or raw clams.

The texture of pre chewed gum, the look of mucus, a taste that requires Tabasco sauce to conceal it, expensive and the risk of poisoning.

The total package!!

Raw shellfish—I’m not much of a fan, especially at inflated prices and risks of parasites and potential illness.

I’m also not that much a fan of pizza at all. My H is lactose and gluten intolerant so we don’t have it often anyway.

Spicy food. So much food today is very spicy. I like to taste food when I eat it , not think about my mouth burning.
