“Glad to see there is a thread for my favorite new show this year. I’m not a country music fan, but the singing on this show is amazing! Loved Connie Britton when she was on Friday Night Lights.”

Ditto.

I’m also a week behind. Saving it for the weekend so I’ll have something to watch.

Love this show. i was in Nashville last year so I like seeing all the sights. The music is great - Clare and Gunner are my favorites but Hayden is growing on me.

Love Nashville and hate waiting for next season. Pretty thrilling last episode. For our summer fun we are watching all seasons of FNL again- we (yep, whole family) just never get tired of it. Great writing and acting.

H and I got thoroughly involved with Nashville and can’t wait 'til next season. We also followed Chicago Fire, but started 4 or 5 episodes in so hope to catch the beginning of the season sometime this summer. Other than American Idol (which we fast-forwarded through after the Top 10 were named), and the too-short run of Downton, those are the only shows we watched regularly. Guess we’ll start something on Netflix or catch up with movies during the summer.

I had a funny and somewhat disturbing experience yesterday. I was driving to an appointment after work and crossed an intersection. To my left was a HUGE memorial of flowers, pictures, etc. There was a large cluster of people, a few policemen and a lot of other parked vehicles. I assumed there had been a terrible accident, but it couldn’t have just happened since all the memorial items were already there, and I didn’t see any damaged vehicles. I also hadn’t heard anything on the news. I drove another block and saw some large trailers and tv-type cameras. I was describing this on the phone to my sister when I suddenly realized that they were filming Nashville!

This was the scene of Rayna and Deacon’s car accident. Last April they filmed the accident/explosion at this same intersection, and this filming is obviously for an upcoming episode. Someone was killed- not Rayna or Deacon. After my appointment I tried to drive back by there, but they had it all blocked off and I had to detour.

I can’t wait for the next season to start. I can visualize a scenario where either or both of them is in critical condition, and that’s why the floral tributes pile up.

Wait momofwildchild - i know they won’t kill off the star of the show but how do you know Deacon wasn’t killed? If not that, Rayna must have run down a pedestrian (she was behind the wheel right?). Oh dear.

I think there was another car involved. I know Deacon is back- it’s been in our local papers. Another love interest is being introduced for Rayna, too.

I wonder who they’ll find for Deacon then. The actress who played his last GF has a recurring role on The Good Wife as Michael J Fox’s wife. The guy who plays Rayna’s husband as been on that too. There seems to be a shortage of tv actors - kidding but they all turn up in multiple shows.

I need to rewatch the last episode. All I remember was a rollover, I don’t remember there being another car or a pedestrian or anything. Did they show that or do we just assume?

My sister was in a rollover like the day before this aired and I think I shut my eyes when I realized what was going to happen.

I’m still ****ed about that ending. There is nothing I hate more in a season finale than a cliff hanger car crash. Is it too much to ask for a little creativity in place of a tired cliche ending? I don’t think either died. One of them will hang on by a thread while the other agonizes. My guess is that Rayna will be more badly injured so Deacon can try to sober up in guilt ridden angst. I hope I’m wrong since I’m not a highly paid television writer who should be able to come up with something much more interesting. Which is more dangerous - drunk driving or angry driving?

MOWC: That’s funny. Gotta love living here I dropped the girls off at the Parthenon 2 weeks ago and they were setting up sound & stage equipment on the stairs, which isn’t terribly unusual. Then the next day I saw pics of Hayden’s character performing there.

I’ve also noticed the little black and yellow NV signs up around town. At least this August I know what they’re for!

My D and I are so excited for Nashville to come back. It was our guilty pleasure show last season! I could write most of these shows myself as I have be watching soap operas since I was 11 years old.

RobD - funny how you mention the black and yellow NV signs. When my girls were younger we would see black and yellow VM signs around where we live and it took us awhile to figure out it was when they were filming Veronica Mars. Now when I see these black and yellow signs I know something is being filmed nearby!

Just glad that ABC brought the show back for the next season because rumors had been swirling that they were going to cancel the show. I think that is why the plot lines for the last episode that aired seemed to tie many things up as well as leave some room for an opening. I think there was a change with the producer or writer or someone on staff so we’ll have to wait and see if the storylines are just more jumbled next season.

Agree with the poster that the sudden shift in Deacon’s sobriety to drunkenness was totally unbelievable, especially given his feelings for Rayna and that his initial alcoholism was tied to the death of some close friend in a car crash.
