D3 can’t get her PSAT score report either. When we click on PSAT/NMSQT button it goes right to her March 2016 SAT. I think CB must have removed them out of embarrassment. :))
Ugh. Here I was thinking we didn’t need to worry about “concorded SI” because we already HAD a SI on that score report. But now we dont anymore?
OK good news - it seems that a new “summary” page or dashboard has been loaded now. Shows all your tests. PSAT is back on that page and when you click for details it goes right to your report. Perhaps they were loading it today when we were all checking.
Its only showing on the new score website. I think they may have just migrated it all over to the new site. No conspiracy here. lol
Ahh, it’s working now. Thank goodness. Worried that College Board had enacted some sinister plot. Haha.
Yay! I’m so pessimistic about this whole thing that I glom onto every scrap of bad news.
September needs to get here already.
Its summer. Go outside and enjoy it. Can’t to anything right now about NMSF (either way) at this point.
Yes, all good now for seeing scores. Now we wait. LOL!
Just wondering, are there any predictions for the confirming SAT score needed for NM? D had a 226 PSAT SI in a traditionally low cutoff state, so we are relatively confident that she will qualify to be a semi-finalist.
She took the SAT in June and got a solid score, so we are hoping that she can be done with testing, but we’ve been unable to find any predictions for the SAT score that will be needed to confirm PSAT. Do we just have to hold our breath until September to see if she is done with testing?
@BusyNapping, check if the moniker “AlreadyNapping” is available for her - she has absolutely nothing to worry about. She will be a NM SF at NM and will go on to be a finalist if she has half decent score compared to that 226 SI!
Confirming score info. is not available on NMSC website (I’ve been checking . . . ). Guessing it’s time to give them a call. Surely they’ll have info by August. That 10/1 SAT date is fast approaching and the (normal registration) deadline is 9/2.
Also, I’ve noticed that NM scholarships are still being announced in local papers, etc. so NMSC might still be doing administrative work for the 2015-16 year. However, they have to be switching gears soon, if not already. Hopefully.
Art at Compass prep had an estimate of 1300-1350 for the confirming score, but that estimate was back in Feb, and probably before all the concordance hullabaloo. In previous years the confirming score hasn’t been overly high. (It was 1960/2400 at one point… which might concord to around 1390 now?)
I will confirm the old score of 1960 (I checked with the CB earlier this year). I was guessing about a 1400 for the new test, but that is purely a guess on my part. I would look at the concordance table and then go up a couple of scores to have wiggle room. Try calling the CB and ask “D took the June SAT test, and I want to know if this score will be good enough to confirm NMSF status in September.” The CB people are usually pretty good about answering these yes or no questions. If we all do this, we could zero in on the new confirmation score.
The college board has nothing to do with the NMS. You would have to ask NMS.
Sorry…That’s what I meant. Call the NMC and ask. They are nice. The CB folks are brusque.
I believe that National Merit will still be accepting scores from the old SAT. Does anyone else have reason to believe that this is the case? My old SAT is well above the cutoff, so I would just feel more comfortable sending that one.
@nutmeg_shippy yes they will as long as it was taken within their two year window which for the 2015 PSAT is something like January 2015 - Dec. 2016. You can call to confirm the applicable time period. They haven’t changed any of the rules about that.
Editing to clarify: NMSC will accept either test as long as it was taken within the applicable window.
I called a couple of months back and the confirming score was not available. They did confirm they would take either SAT, depending on time period taken.
@BusyNapping Regarding the confirming SAT score for NM purposes, Art Sawyer from Compass said he’s expecting around 1360-1380 (New SAT). Later, when asked again, Art said he sees 1400 “as upper bound” for SAT confirmation. There’s your answer from the Sage of Harvard himself.
