A lot of regular posters are also scared to post their results. Any fake scores will be evident soon enough.
is anyone in possession of the actual Texas booklet
@Dookster are you out there?
It could be that some folks have divulged too much personal information about themselves on their standard accounts, so they protect their anonymity by creating a new account. I realize it is doubtful that NMSC would actually take action against someone for violating their protocol, but it canāt hurt to take some precautions.
@WGSK88 āI believe more bigger states will have odd number cut-off given the fact odd number scoring was way less than even number scorersā
I am hoping youāre right, having a son with 217 in IL. OH <= 217 is encouraging. Just curious why you feel the data favor odd numbers over even numbers. If more testers have even number scores, wouldnāt even numbers be more likely to reach the cumulative total than odd numbers?
Thanks⦠not home school.
@candjsdad ā¦there are no names on CC so I donāt see how it would hurt anyone to put the information out there.
PSA - Iām legit. I joined today because I thought my info would help others.
@JL1010Cā¦Congratulations again!! Thank you for sharing your information with us.
ours is even number (220 in CA). Prediction is 219-222! We are not dependent on NMF, but nice to have that. GOod luck to all!
Thanks @JL1010C ! And congrats!

Thatās exactly what someone who is NOT legit would say to make us all believe that they are legit.
:))
Beware NMSC astroturfers, who try to cast doubt on score reports, and instill distrust, so that people are in suspense until the official release dateā¦

@IABooks @WGSK88 If our school tried that ānot til sep 14ā garbage with me, Iād be down in the office inviting them to exercise some reading comprehension.
@Tgirlfriend There arenāt many of us homeschoolers out there. So in Virginia, a state with a lot of homeschoolers, there are only 11 who made NMSF in the 2015 competition. Now narrow that group down by actual score, and you are down to only a couple of possible options. From there, if you have divulged anything else about yourself (like gender of the student in question) and you may entirely give away who you are by saying, Iām a homeschooler with 217 and I got a letter.
If someone really wanted to have fun he/she could start posting supposed sf scores from the ridiculously inaccurate SI table that CB published last winter. The one that the True Believers were swearing by. Of course, that prank wouldnāt last long at all, esp. given the suspicion level on this thread even when more reasonable values are posted.
And you heard it here first, so no lifting my idea! LOL 8-}
@JL1010C - No problem, I just donāt want to see folks get their hopes crushed by someone looking to have a little fun at others expense. The internet can be a cruel place. Congrats!
If someone reports on a score that makes me believe that D made NMSF, Iām sending her to pester her GC for confirmation.
I would like to recommend caution about advising people to be too assertive with the school about releasing the information. Part of the application has to be completed by the counselor. It could make the student and parent a little uneasy if they thought they might have annoyed the counselor who was completing their application.
We are on the bubble at a very large school in CO. Just spoke to GC and she said another student just also asked, and they talked to the post-grad person who should get notification, who said the notification is āreleased in September.ā I can only take that to mean that they have not yet received or perhaps opened the letter, or were prohibited from sharing until Sept.
