yeah – I think NY will be higher than projected 218 also sadly - DS will miss it too most likely.
Early signs of cutoffs leaning towards higher-end of Art’s predictions. My personal prediction for OH at 217 (same as Art’s), my D will miss it!
MN might be 217 or 218. Always a point behind IL. Unless there is something unique about IL this year.
Thinking too - about NJ which also had some high anecdotal info. I hope IL is an outlier!
Sigh. Unless Florida strays from the trend of higher end cutoffs, it looks like my son will be among the ones who missed by 1 point. I had a bad feeling but still
Before we get too freaked out, Florida and Ohio aren’t at the very top of the predicted range.
Wow, was not expecting that cutoff for Illinois. Seems ridiculously high, but alas, we will miss it by 1 point as well.
I’m kinda lurking this thread, and the <=217 looks good for Ohio cause I took the PSAT last year as a sophomore and got a 217, so hopefully it will stay somewhat the same for next year
So sorry to hear about folks on the bubble just missing. IL does seem high.
Mine too @delilahxc. No word yet from GC
Our GC said principal won’t tell anyone because she is told not to by NMSC (SMH) so we are sitting here on the bubble impatiently waiting.
@Soccer1235 Don’t take it for granted though. I begged my son to do test prep for the PSAT but his previous scores were strong enough that he didn’t think he needed to. He did score well but missing by 1 point is going to cost him a lot of money. When his first SAT was 1420 (already having the worry that he’d missed NMSF - good score but not quite what he needed) I finally convinced him to put at least some effort in. And he raised his score to 1550. And this was using a book, nothing super hardcore. So I definitely recommend, even if you think you don’t need it, some prep is really, really worth it if you are looking at schools that offer NMSF merit aid.
Yes, my daughter missed it with 218 from Illinois based on the post that IL cutoff is 219! I dreaded this all along as her School had 12 children with 218 and 10 with 219 or above. This is the lowest number of children her School has this year has NMSF which si 10 only!
@delilahxc no way a 1550 SAT won’t get significant merit aid! congrats to your son for taking your advice!
So is IL the first “odd” cut-off that’s been confirmed?
If IL cutoff is 219, it does not bode well for high scoring states. No way CA cutoff going to be 220. Might be 221, if scores are squished closely. Now, I would not be surprised if CA cutoff turns out to be 222 but would be pleasantly shocked if CA cutoff turned out to be 220.
.
I’m sorry to see that something close to the “worst possible concordances” shown in my post

might be coming true…
Everyone…I saw the book. No SI numbers in the book. So the book does no good for the cutoff by states. Sorry.
@Tgirlfriend But . . . but . . . What about all of your friends here? You could have PM’d us all and asked for real names and given us confirmation! What else did you have to do with your afternoon???
