New Fall TV shows

Not many catching my interest at the moment. Maybe

Revolution

Elementary

Arrow … possibly

Anyone considering taking on any of the new shows?

I don’t watch much new TV but there are a lot of new show reviews around these days: [Fall TV: A guide to 2012’s new shows - The Washington Post](http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/fall-tv-a-guide-to-2012s-new-shows/2012/09/12/f2861f54-fc1f-11e1-8adc-499661afe377_gallery.html#photo=1)

We will try Revolution tonight and I really want to see Elementary. We watched The New Normal and it was genuinely funny-Ellen Barkin is amazing. The Arrow seems like a show tailor-made for DS but he won’t be home to watch it :(

MyLB: Thanks for the link. Interestingly, Nashville got a grade of A+ but I still have no desire to watch it.

Well I’m too busy watching Lost on Netflix! ;)

I’ll try out Revolution in my never ending quest to find the next Lost!

Didn’t realize new shows have already started so thx for the heads up.

I started watching two new series last year. Neither one was picked up for a second.
So not in a rush to watch a new show.

Lost fans: let us know how Revolution is; we too are still looking for something that comes close; not feelin it…

I watched Revolution and I liked it. It didn’t really hook me until the end of the episode and I don’t think I’ll be sold on it for sure until I see a few more, but I am definitely intrigued.

I can’t wait for Nashville. Connie Britton is outstanding and the show sounds awesome. They filmed it here and it’s been fun.

Revolution started here 45 minutes ago. Ten minutes in I was tired of it and turned it off. The women have styled hair and are wearing sexy stretch tops. There are many long, meaningful stares. The protagonist seems to be a Katniss rip-off. Zzzzz. Do you suppose the producers know what caused the loss of power? I think they have no idea and will just be making it up as they go along, a la Lost. The only other dramas I’m planning to take a look at are Nashville and Last Resort. They’ll get 10 minutes to capture me too!

Have watched The New Normal (yay) and Go On (nay). Revolution is recording as I type. The others that I plan on giving a try are Nashville, Vegas, Last Resort and Elementary.

Really, though, I’m much more interested in some of my favorites returning - Boardwalk Empire was great last night; Treme, Dexter, The Amazing Race, Person of Interest, and CSI. Oh, and Revenge!

Just finishing the second season of “Treme” on HBO in preparation for the start of the third. What a terrific show!! I spent a week in NOLA at the end of May doing work for the St. Bernard Project which was very meaningful and important work. Treme is very realistic, in my opinion. Also looking forward to the return of the alphabets: NCIS, CSI, SVU. Also love The Amazing Race.

I think Revolution might be fun, but agree that the tight stretchy clothes and stylized hair for the female leads kind of takes the realness out. I’m a fan of the Hunger Games genre in general so have no problems with copying from that.

I watched the “New Normal” last week and thought it was too crude for my liking. Not funny either.

I would prefer NOT to get hooked into too many shows, it cuts into my book reading!

I agree … it got better as it went.

MommaJ: I thought “Katniss” too. (I give a show three episodes before I cut it off … in tribute to Northern Exposure. I hated that show the first couple episodes. However, I nursed my youngest at that time. It was either Northern Exposure or Monday Night Football or catching just a portion of the Monday Night movie. It ended up becoming an all-time favorite … glad I stuck with it. I always think of it when I watch a new show.)

I watched almost no TV until a couple years ago. My husband watches every show on TV - I slightly exaggerate - and I figured I should join him, at least somewhat. I try to limit what I watch since, as you say, “it cuts into my book reading.”

I want to add, though, that I thoroughly enjoy the shows I now watch.

Looking forward to “Elementary” here!

One and done for Revolution. Pretty lame. Was hoping for something akin to Terra Nova.

I rarely like the first few episodes of a new show. I recently got into True Blood and watched half the first season before I got hooked, and I just started Friday Night Lights and it took about 5 episodes for me to decide if I was interested.

I CAN’T WAIT for Revenge! We are really looking forward to Revenge, Suburgatory (another that took a while to get interesting if you ask me), and New Girl.

Looking forward to ‘666 Park Ave’, as I LOVE Vanessa Williams.

Also interested in ‘Animal Practice’, as D1 is pre-vet, although I don’t have high hopes based on the trailers I’ve seen.
