Has anyone listened to the “This is Jeopardy” podcast yet? H and I got through all the available episodes (there were 5 as of today) during a long drive and thought it was great! It’s narrated by Buzzy and he really does a good job.

I’m still watching most nights and happy to see Ken back. But, I’m missing not as many strong, interesting contestants and not as many competitive games lately. Wondering when we’ll see the next really strong, multi day winner.

It was painful watching the 3 contestants not even buzzing in on almost all of the clues in the Mathematics category. I’m sure every mathematician/scientist/engineer watching was chomping at the bit to answer those–I certainly was!
Three right-brain contestant presented with a left-brain category? Now they know how I feel when there is an Opera, Rap Music, or Social Influencers category.

At least Anji did get one of the mathematics questions. There were other ones (other than math ones) that nobody got, that seemed easy, like Unser and Rhodes.
Very happy with the result tonight! Pittsburgh connection and great player!

Last show of the season, FINALLY a 3 day champ. Now he has to wait until new shows tape!

The new episodes will tape even if the strike is not settled. Season premiere is 9/11.
There will be no tournament of champions until the strike us settled, however
I did read that they will use recycled clues – hate that idea. I would rather they not do new shows until the strikes are settled.
No TOC only because the contestants would not take part in filming shows during the strike.

There was never a plan for a ToC during the strike. The fact that Ray Lalonde and others said they refused to participate during the strike is irrelevant.
I would think that Jennings/Holhauzer caliber players would remember things they learned from previous shows. Heck, even I remember things because I learned them on Jeopardy.
Recycled questions is a bad idea. TOC with recycled questions is a really bad idea.

I suspect that’s why they’re delaying ToC and not because eligible players won’t compete
Yeah, I suspect next season will get a big old asterisk next to it, like they do in the sports books. There are enough resources out there to find thousands of old questions

Some questions have always been recycled, albeit rephrased.
Not only will they be reusing questions, they’ll also be reusing contestants because it would “not be fair to have new contestants.”
“So the third place prize will move up to $2,000. The second place prize will move up to $3,000.’
Gee, can they spare it?
