New Jeopardy host preference? / Jeopardy updates

I’m glad I won’t have to put up with Mayim’s dramatic pauses anymore. I would cringe every time.

Anyone else think that Tyler Vandenberg looks like he is too young to be served in a bar?

Yes! And how does he know so much?!?

In dress blues, not so much. If he were in jeans and a tee, I’d be carding him

He reminds me of the “Young Sheldon” character. LOL.

Anyone else notice the new opening sequence? Seems a bit flashier but kind of fun to get a peek behind the scenes and of Johnny Gilbert.

I’ve always been a fan of hers. Would have liked to see her hosting… per TMZ:

“Mayim Bialik stepping away from “Jeopardy!” in solidarity with striking writers showed Sony executives they didn’t need 2 hosts for the quiz show, and that’s why they moved on…

Our sources say Sony is still open to having Mayim host “Jeopardy!” primetime specials, because they feel she’s talented and works well with the celebrity contestants…

…our sources say the ball is still in Mayim’s court … we’re told Sony execs want her for primetime specials, if she accepts the offer.”

The Harvard senior was impressive tonight but she didn’t read the FJ clue carefully!

Right. That was unfortunate for her, but she did not read carefully about what they were lòoking for. That’s one she’s probably kicking herself over. Hard loss when you could have won if you had just read more carefully.

A programming note for Monday for CBS affiliates

Due to heavy snow in western New York State, the Steelers-Bills AFC wild card game originally scheduled for 1 pm Eastern Time Sunday has been moved to 4:30 pm ET on Monday.

This will pre-empt Jeopardy! in 56 media markets, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Boston, Tampa, and Cleveland.

These pre-emptions are in addition to those already in place for ABC markets airing Jeopardy! at 7:30 pm ET or later due to Eagles-Buccaneers, and on FOX for college basketball, PBA bowling, and the Primetime Emmy Awards

Check your local listings.

Yes, lots of schedule changes on Monday.

Here We Go, Steelers!

Really? Welcome to my world. Our Jeopardy! shows air at 6 pm on a local Fox station. It is ALWAYS pre-empted for sports. Every Thursday for NFL football, often for baseball (especially during the playoffs). Basketball (usually college), sometimes hockey and those are never the local teams as we have an ongoing battle with Altitude sports (Kronke) on cable rights over the Avs and Nuggets. Just this year it started airing on another local station at 6 (a CW) that sometimes shares news and weather with the Fox station, but before that it would be scheduled for after the sports event, like sometime between 8 and 9, but if the game ran late, it would be on at 1 or 2 am. It doesn’t air on the other station is there is an afternoon game that runs into the 6 pm timeslot.

I don’t get how this gets a special announcement that Jeopardy will be missed for one day.

Well, for a lot of us it is an unusual occurrence. I appreciate knowing about it so I can record it.

But that’s it. Hard to record when you don’t know when the make up is! Sometimes my recorder would pick up any Jeopardy show on that day and that channel, but it won’t pick it up if it is delayed or if it is on the other station.

Having warning that a show is pre empted means I can look at the Spectrum guide and see when it’s been rescheduled. This time, it’s at 1:51 am tomorrow.

Because this was a last minute change. You know well in advance what the World Series schedule is or the NFL season schedule is. Not everyone might have noticed he the AFC Wild Card game was moved at the last minute.

Well, I posted the preemption and wrote “Check your local listings.” A market-by-market recap shouldn’t be expected. But for those in the Boston market, it’ll be on WSBK-38 at the same time.

Alternatively, users can simply skip over posts that don’t interest them.

Boston market is fortunately for us unaffected by the game. Jeopardy is on CBS4, while the game will be shown on ABC5

EDIT: Morning newspaper lied—Jeopardy is indeed pre-empted by the game. Ugh

During the season, on Fridays Jeopardy is moved to a sister station (38) to air “Patriots Access”. Even that’s not apparently happening.

Dang.

My channel guide on Comcast does not show Jeopardy moving to 38 today…
