One of the few episodes i’ve missed. I didn’t realize he was going to be on. I probably will watch him in the semi finals but doubt I’ll root for him.
Me.
It’s also good I put no money on this, as 3 of my favorites were eliminated this week
One of his opponents bet it all and hit on a DJ daily double. He then almost immediately found the other DD, and made a huge bet that failed. Had he succeeded, Yogesh would have been in trouble. Yogesh used that opening to go on a run. Nevertheless, making 20K without a DD was impressive. Again, that said, no joy, just smugness.
The psychologist from Ontario (Javeria, maybe?) was a favorite of mine. She just can’t believe her good fortune and is thrilled, unlike other people.
Yup. That was one of my favorites
Surprise winner tonight!
Pleased, but surprised.
I was shocked that Cris Pannulo lost in the semi-finals. I was counting on him to beat Yogesh.
I hate the new TOC format that was instituted last season. The 4 wild cards gave excellent players who came up against a buzz saw of an opponent a chance to continue playing. Players in 2nd or 3rd place would bet accordingly. Now, if a first round game is a runaway, the game is over very early.
We’ve been on vacation for two weeks. I’ll never catch up!
Any idea why one of the contestants tonight (Troy?) was seated?
He sat for part of his original run as well.
A contestant can ask to be seated. No questions asked.
When Ken did his original 6 weeks as host, he sat.
TOC semi-finals begin today.
Programming note for West Coast viewers: check local listings. Due to State of the Union, the episode will air later in most PT markets
Good game tonight.
Except for FJ. One of those rare times when I not only didn’t know the answer, I didn’t know the clue. Ken might as well have been Charlie Brown’s teacher for all I understood.
And Ike made a wager error. If he would have bet $0, he would have won.
Yeah, but that’s Monday morning quarterbacking. I would have made the same wager as he did, since we couldn’t have known FJ would be a triple stumper.
But the third place guy couldn’t have gotten to $10k+, Ike’s score, and Ike couldn’t win unless the winner missed FJ. I would have bet $0 in Ike’s place (as I can prove because I was screaming it at the TV and I’m sure you all heard me). Plus it sounded like a hard category so I would have bet $0 to save face.
Is it my imagination or is Yogesh trying to be less arrogant/more likeable?
