New Jeopardy host preference? / Jeopardy updates

Good catch!

On tonight’s episode, Lily Rose Depp said, “kicking a@*” - once again, I feel like Jeopardy used to be better than that.

Yeah, I noticed.

Ha, I’m watching a rerun of Celebrity Jeopardy just now (followed Home Alone, featuring Macaulay Culkin as one of the celebrities) that had a whole category dedicated to synonyms for “butt”. So maybe avoid that one?

Celebrity Jeopardy doesn’t have the same classy mystique, IMO.

Lol, I thought of you fine folks when I watched the most recent Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming on Prime; Amazon, please send me my commission). Host Colin Jost told one team “if you have any balls, you’ll go all in” and the final response was “Damn”.

So if you think Celebrity Jeopardy is less classy, get ready to clutch those pearls!

I knew the FJ last night: pantomime. None of the contestants did.

I knew it as well, but mainly because it was forefront in my mind; panto is quite popular in the UK during the holidays.

Jeopardy halts production due to wildfires

Understandable considering the circumstances. My understanding is they’ve taped through Tournament of Champions.

On last night’s game, double jeopardy, was it made clear that the category that listed characters from a novel, the answer was to be the name of the novel? I didn’t get that from the category title. The first to answer said Lady Chatterly’s Lover’s’, and was judged incorrect. Once that answer was rejected, the other 4 were answered with the novel’s title.

All 3 of us watching thought they would return from commercial with a scoring change, but they did not. TBH, I wasn’t paying attention when the DJ categories were revealed.

I saw this online: In People of the Book, the clue read: “Paralyzed Clifford, amorous Constance, manly Oliver.” Clauson answered with, “Lady Chatterley’s Lovers,” whereas the correct response was Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Jeopardy pre-empted for the local news. One more reason to be annoyed.

It was a good game

Am I the only one who thinks there are too many back-to-back tournaments?

Nope

I loved seeing Skylar all growed up. I was rooting for him … that would have been way cool if he won.

I’m starting to think I’m the only one who doesn’t mind the tournaments. I like seeing familiar faces and blasts from the past come back. Would folks prefer if the tournaments were interspersed between regular games across the season? Or do some people just prefer no (or fewer) tournaments, period?

Fewer tournaments. Or at least not with the same players. Matt Amodio, Hannah, etc, have had their time in tournament play already

Some of the players who haven’t played in decades, like the older gentleman at the far right on the first day of the JIT, have no chance. The game has evolved since they played. He played twice, once with Art Fleming (!) and once in the eighties, I believe. Amodio ate him for lunch.

But those are the players I want to see. Or Skyler Hornback from last night. No offense to great players like Amy Schneider and Ray LaLonde, but we saw them last year. Kudos to Mattea Roach, Cris Pannullo, Brad Rutter, and others who turned down the invite.
