New new American Idol thread (2010).

What happened tonight?

Didi got voted off. She, Tim and Katie were the bottom three.

Big Mike picked up Ryan Seacrest and shook him around like King Kong and Fay Wray. That was my favorite part of the evening.

Was it me or was Ryan Seacrest a total jacka$$ tonight? The elimination show should be pared down to 30 mins. Less time for Ryan to be a jerk. I’m sure Simon cannot wait until this year is over…

Here is what Didi was trying to do:

The absolutely jaw-dropping performance of *What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted *by Joan Osborne with the members of the Motown house band from the **Shadows of Motown **DVD:

I can’t post the link, but just go to YouTube and search for this title:

Joan Osborne - What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted - [STEREO]

Needless to say, Didi did a cruise-ship karaoke rendition at best.

So disappointed with this season! Are these the very best they could find? really? really?

Isn’t that the truth???

I really felt so sorry for DiDi. I thought she was very classy when she refused Ryan’s attempts to exploit whatever heartache she was carrying.

Ryan is really getting on my nerves. I just want to tell him he is not nearly as funny as he thinks he is.

And Tim. I can’t complain, I suppose. I never vote and I suspect few people my age do - so we are doomed to those contestants who are cherished by the tweens. BUT if the pool of talent were better, it wouldn’t be so painful.

I’ve almost given up watching and I rarely give up on a show once I’ve watched it for a while. I forward through most of it – I just like seeing Michael and Crystal perform. Forwarded the entire results show just to see who got voted off. How did this show become such a snoozefest this season?

Adam Lambert broke American Idol.

I don’t really think this batch of karaoke cruise ship singer kids is any worse than the batch from previous years. I think that doing high school talent show versions of familiar songs is no longer enough after, for example, Whole Lotta Love.

Speaking of which, Lambert is now doing an unplugged acoustic version of Whole Lotta Love. That’s a hoot. Go to YouTube and search for this one:

**“Whole Lotta Love” (acoustic) Adam Lambert Fantasy Springs 022710.m4v **

I was at that concert interesteddad. That acoustic Whole Lotta Love was amazing live.

That would have been a good one to go to!

So, anyone watching? First up was the young boy…what is his name? The judges panned him but I thought he was fine, not great, but passable

Next up was Katie, the young girl with the dark long hair. She was wonderful and the judges loved her tonite too. She sounded very professional. She won’t be in the bottom three this week.
They are doing Lennon/McCartney songs btw.

I swore off idol this year (luckily from what I hear) but now I have to watch it next week, cause Adam is coming back! Yay!

A little over an hour into the show and it’s a huge BORE!

I agree, the show has lost its…shine. Crystal still was amazing though.

I always fear Lennon/McCartney week a little, but so far tonight nothing too bad. Katie was surprisingly good, Crystal was good as always (and I dug the didgeridoo). Odd that only 3 girls are left, but at least those 3 are strong.

Is there a Beatles song for Siobhan to scream tonight? I like her but Simon has told her a couple of times that he’d had enough of the screaming…we’ll see.

Another crappy night of American Idol–their talent is average at best.

Siobhan was excellent tonight!

I loves Siobhan tonight. Crystal was great as usual and I really liked Katie. Casey was the best of the guys tonight.

^^^^agreed
