No kidding! I rewound and made my husband watch it - HILARIOUS!! Look at that, now look at me, … I’m on a horse!! :D

Love Casey - can understand why Kara is googly eyed, but come on, be an adult AND be professional!! UGGH

I agree with everyone here; disappointing night just like the ladies’ one was. Lee, Casey, and Andrew are my favorites, but no one really wowed me. Sure hope things get better!!!

Kara is disgusting regarding Casey and that whole approach needs to stop now. Very unprofessional. He seems to be bewildered by it and doesn’t know how to react. I don’t blame him - it’s downright creepy.

ok…gotta come clean here…after getting the “warning” that we were basically getting snowed in for the next two days, I sat myself down on the couch the last two nights to be entertained by AI; unless my ears have been affected by the coming snowiccane (not my word), I thought both nights were just really weak…on all levels…hoping “spring” brings some better performances…

I’ve been an avid AI watcher since the beginning. However, I’ve made a couple resolutions as I continue to be disappointed in the quality of the progam and the choices they make–judges, contestants, editing, you name it.

Never waste time watching the Audition rounds again.

Make sure to skip the Hollywood week drama episodes.

Start watching the week they FINALLY have some singing to appreciate. (Top 24)

Stop watching after the Top 24 begins if after 2 weeks, it’s no better than it was this week. (Awful).

Guess I’ll be gaining some free time next year.

Okay, so, last year when they added a fourth judge, I thought it was unnecessary but realized they might be grooming someone in case Paula left. However, I always thought three judges was a better number. I am finding that I don’t like the panel this year – don’t like the combination and I don’t care for Ellen – and I’m a big Ellen fan (although I’ve only seen her perform comedy, not her talk show.) What is with Simon? Every time Ellen is speaking he is looking off to the side, his body is turned; his body language makes it seem like he is really annoyed that she is there. And what is with Ellen? She perseverates and does her schtick, but it just doesn’t work in this context. I don’t need to hear her say that a contestant is “adorable” several times. I would prefer to hear her say a couple of complete sentences. Next to her, Randy sounds articulate. She is not really bringing anything to the table, in my opinion. Also, it just takes too long to get through the judges’ critiques. I find myself doing a lot more fast-forwarding with this combo. Kara talks for too long, even Simon is going on longer than he needs to. I’m actually enjoying Randy more than the others because he just says what he wants to say and knows when to stop.

Agree that Ellen doesn’t add anything. If there was going to be another judge, shouldn’t it have been someone with some sort of musical background/experience?
She tells them all that she really likes them and then parrots “catch phrases” that the other judges have used throughout the years.

And yeah, the thing with Kara and Casey has gotta stop. It’s so juvenile. Casey seems embarassed…can’t blame him. It’s not High School Musical.

I also love Ellen but think that she doesn’t add any substance to the show. Then again, neither does Kara, really…couldn’t Shania Twain become a permanent judge? That would be awesome!

I was shocked by tonight’s results.

Okay so I wasn’t completely shocked by Tyler going home (the “American Woman” singer/rocker) but I was surprised that Tim Urban got to stay while the way more talented Indian guy (bad with names) had to go home. Of the girls, I really thought the girl with the short spikey hair would be sent home and not the pretty blonde, but that said, neither were strong enough to make it through to the top 12 anyhow.

For those wondering about the Simon/Ellen dynamic, TMZ (take it for what it’s worth) is reporting that they’ve really been getting on each other’s nerves. On the very first day of Ellen’s judging, Simon was late causing her to have to wait around so she got upset. Then apparently Simon decided to be meaner to the contestants than normal just to push her buttons because she disagreed with his judging style (not sure that’s really her place but I digress)…

so… the producers separated them.

I had to miss it. what’s the Indian guy’s name? I don’t even remember an Indian guy.

Which pretty blonde got voted off??? Not Didi, I hope. Was it Jannell? Or the one with the big hair last night?

How did Lacey manage to stay this week?

Just watched all 24 tonight. Maybe it’s just not my kind of music, but the guys were seriously unimpressive.

My favorites:
Lilly - Wow. She has serious talent. It’s unfortunate that’s not always what’s rewarded on this show
Siobhan - Different, in a good way
Didi - Different, in a different good way :)

up in the air:
Crystal - Really a good singer. We’ll see.
Katie - Lots of potential
Todrick - The only guy that was at all memorable, but I’m not really into his style of music

I was wrong. The other guy who went home wasn’t of Indian descent, his name is Joe Munoz. He wasn’t wonderful and I know he would have gone home soon but really, the off key guy who sang Apologize and couldn’t do any falsetto should have gotten the boot. The blonde girl who was sent home was Janelle Wheeler and the other girl booted was Ashley Rodriguez (pretty dark haired girl with a nose stud/earing).

Voted off last night:
Girls
Janell - blonde, not with big hair
Ashley - sang 2nd on Tuesday - dark long hair

Guys
Tyler - the 70’s throwback guy
Joe - David Archuleta look alike

i was shocked by yesterday’s result!! the blonde sang well yesterday… and i liked the spanish guy( munoz)… those 2 for me had to stay longer! others deserved to leave…

I liked Joe and Ashley. Mi compadres go down.
Pretty surprised by Tyler and Janell because there were people who were much worse.

I always have to remind myself that the way that people vote when it’s still the top 24, top 20, etc up to about top 7-8 is tremendously sporadic and unpredictable. Sometimes it’s good (remember how surprised everyone was that Kris wasn’t eliminated early on last season, considering that he’d gotten little screentime before then?), sometimes it sucks, but until the top 12 it’s way more about things that aren’t actually related to musical talent.

So, anyone watching AI now? Crystal Bowersox just hit one out of the park. She was up first and was amazing (which is remarkable considering that she just spent the last 24 hours in the hospital with complications of her diabetes). New up is the 17 year old, Haley doing a Miley Cyrus’s The Climb.

Haeley is not a strong enough singer for the song. Her performance was just ok…kareoke. Randy didn’t like it either…very pitchy. Ellen tries so hard to be nice the the contestants…but also thought she didn’t connect with the song. Kara was spot on…the kids is just too young as a performer. Simon says it was a complete and utter mess.

Crystal was wonderful.
Haley (singing The Climb) was terrible. It’s time for her to go home.
