New Season of Project Runway

I couldn’t help but think of the Sweatpants thread when i saw Sonjia’s outfit. It was a suit AND sweatpants! How could anybody hate that on the other thread?

Of all the outfits, I would have probably put DS in the navy one with the cute little pocket. Nice pop of color and I liked the detailing.

Mizzbee, I thought of the sweatpants thread too!

And have you all looked at the next “all star” lineup? All of the most out there personalities. Will be crazy!

The gray and navy sweatsuit was so - so, but it was the scooped neck tank underneath that sent me over the edge.

I admit I had a couple fits of giggles during last night’s baby episode.

I can’t believe Wendy Pepper’s coming back.

ME EITHER! Cant wait to see her and Ivy. I am glad Emilio is coming back, I liked him.

Some of the others are pretty crazy personalities too though. It seems like they chose the most explosive personalities to put into this all stars.

Emilio Sosa
Ivy Higa
Joshua McKinley
Kayne Gillaspie
Laura Kathleen
Peach Carr
Suede
Uli Herzner
Wendy Pepper

I can’t wait to see Uli again. She did such beautiful flowy dresses but I am sure she has evolved. Wendy, I doubt, has the talent of the many that have come after her. And I don’t know what is wrong with my memory, but who is Suede???

I loved the navy outfit. Would totally have dressed my boys in that. It looked comfy and cute. In my opinion, a baby should be able to nap comfortably in an outfit. That one fit the bill for me.

Suede never said ‘I’, only spoke in third person.

Just caught up on this weeks episode. I think it was the most fun episode in a while. Not the fake baby thing, that was just annoying (to me) but designing ‘fashion’ for a toddler. As parents, we know how wiggly and jiggly these 12 to 18 month-olds are, and how comfort, wash-ability, and the cute factor all have to work together.

I personally liked every single one of the outfits (only speaking to the kid outfits, I didn’t even pay attention to the Mom outfits).

Melissa’s baby dress was missing the all important diaper cover-up, like a pull on bloomer (my D had them in every color when she was a wee one). I was looking at the fabric that had the graphic “monsters” all over it and thought it, or even that animal print (that she’d originally made the leggings out of) would have been a cute addition. Honestly, even a match to the vest (which I adored, with the cute jeweled monster on the back).

Normally I find “boy” clothing boring, but these designers made something boring stand out. If I had to pick a weak link in the designs (to me) I would have said the sweatsuit combo that was actually a winner. I think the piece that Dimitry made (the red jumpsuit) was very European, and adorable. Reworked could be great pjs. For me, in the boy collection, Fabio’s stood head and shoulders above the other 2.

For the girls, Elena’s was cute. So what it didn’t match, there was a vibe and I quite liked it (although I don’t care for her).

I thought Chris’ dress was sweet and I would have put my D in it in a heartbeat if we were going somewhere special; I didn’t like the jacket with it.

Anyone notice that Chris is very even keeled? I didn’t like him much at the start of the season, but I really like him now. And I spat water when Sanja called his client “Mary J Blige” - hilarious. I like her too.

Very much looking forward to All Stars!

I have loved Christopher from the beginning. He is a doll face and I love his designs!

I was in Lord and Taylor on 5th Avenue dress shopping because the mother store has much more selection than our suburban location. I saw all the Project Runway dresses that have been produced as well as Christopher’s winning gown this season which must be in production now. His original dress didn’t look as nice in person as it did on the show however I am sure once produced for resale it will be nice. I actually bought the dress by Gordana, well priced at $278 less 30%. Since neither of my daughters have TV’s and have not been watching online, they had not seen any featured and interesting to see them guessing who had designed what… Older d tried on Chris March’s dress, which was a hoot and ideal for Purim… Queen Esther or Vashti anyone?

How fun to see these dresses in real life! And then to try them on & buy… wow: envy :)

DH and I just caught up on the most recent episode. I couldn’t stand Elena so I’m happy she’s gone. I usually like Christopher’s designs much more than others, but I find Fabio to be such a nice guy. I can’t imagine a better mentor for the contestants than Tim Gunn.

If I’d had to listen to all that crying from those babies, I’m afraid I’d have pulled out my hair.

I have never liked Elena either so wasn’t sorry to see her go, but I actually thought her outfit was cute. Just based on the work for the episode, the white dress designer should have been the one to go. It was bad in every possible way, even if the vest was cute.

I would love Chris March to design something for me. I watched his spin-ff show and he seemed to be just how I imagined him to be. What a character!

The flowers & leaves on Christopher’s dress were looking very ragged by the judging. I assume they will serge the edges on the mass produced product so they hold up better.

The editors are really capturing some great on-liners this year. Only Sanja could have pulled off the Mary J Blige comment. I like there’s not too much conflict among the contestants and most of the comments are either self-deprecating or fairly spot on regarding the other outfits.

I thought Melissa would go, although I like her personally she has been struggling. I liked Elena outfit and while in past episodes she was quite strident, she had been mellowing and I liked her better. I love Dimitri, and Sanje. I agree on the comments about last years winners, bogus. but stiil get wrapped up in te show.

That design’s been almost overhauled. Serged edges and new colors. You can see both winning designs for sale here:

Yes, I’d say they took a few liberties with Christopher’s design. What a bargain at $29.99!

Except for the color change, that dress is fairly close to what he designed. The jacket appear quite a bit streamlined.

The boys outfit looks very similar except for the tshirt, which is a big improvement.
