In right now (Goskid 1 out in SF and Goskid 2 skiing)…but we have a neighborhood party to go to later.
We’re leaving at 10pm. I feel like my kids… who normally start their evenings out when I’m about to go to bed! Have done this party in the past…and usually about 12:15, we, and all our pals, start heading home…
In. Chilling on the sofa curled up with my pittie pups and watching football with my DH.
Saw The Imitation Game about Turing, Enigma and Bletchley Park in WWII. Really good. Now we are home.
In doing our usual family celebration with both sons. We’ve been doing this since they were much younger and staying up til midnight was a big deal. They choose the food and we play board games. I’m thrilled that they still choose to spend NYE with us now that they’re adults.
Out early then in. Kids are going out after dinner.
I am in eating black eye peas and collard greens. My kid is out with friends eating a burger and watching fireworks before going to a New year’s eve party at a friend’s house.
In now. Was with cousin and five grandkids for a sleepover. I don’t know how much sleep cousin will get. Taught old grandkids how to cut steak with a knife. Got a lovely card from another, about how I always say nice things to her. I still have cold/fever, so happy to rest.

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin are such an odd couple!!!
In with H and S18 for Mexican take-out and card games. D15 out for a sleepover NYE/bday (friend was born at 12:0-something am NYD). No driving for any of us.
We went to see “Wild” but are home already. It was good, in a drama sort of way. We were one of the youngest couples in the audience. It was a VERY senior audience. Not sure if it due to the film, or being NYE. I expected a little more action on the trail, but…Now we’ll just watch TV.
We get to be designated driver tonight. Taxi’s are hard to get on NYE and I feel better knowing they have a safe way home. Son’s GF drove and promised to lock her key in the car, her spare one is here. They’ll pick the car up tomorrow. Yes, she’s sleeping over because I’m not driving her home at 2am due to how far she lives. The kids have been working a LOT so I’ll let them enjoy their New Year’s while they’re still young.
After far too many new years eves on stage watching “amateur hour” Mrs. and I are just relaxing getting a taste of the empty nest that will soon be the new normal.2 older kids out with there significant others.I will pick up the 17 yo just after midnight. Luckily I will still get to bed early enough to catch “politics takes a holiday” from the Capital Steps on NPR tomorrow morning!

In, relaxing with my husband…daughter is having a couple of friends hang out, so ours is the safe from trouble house.
I had a stomach bug a few days ago and my taste buds and appetite are still out of whack so eating was boring to me.
In. Nearly to midnight. Watching the local station but no regrets to not being there in the near freezing, near raining conditions. Starting to rain … So glad I’m in!
HAPPY NEW YEAR all. We stayed in with a carry out pizza for H, his mom and me. His mom went to bed at 9:30 as usual (over 80). I remembered to put the champagne (technically sparkling wine per the French) in the refrigerator after 10 pm so it will wait- and H was asleep by 11:30 pm. Getting old in this household, sigh. I’m NOT waiting 3 hours to bother son at midnight his time.

H woke me up in my chair to say happy new year. Then got calls and texts from kids. Now I am awake! Haha. Old age.

Daughter, her bf from college who is here with us, a good friend, and I went to the movies to see Wild–we all loved it–and then to our hometown Brooklyn NYC’s Prospect Park for the annual fireworks. It was a great Brooklyn crowd and the fireworks were awesome! But it was COLD!
Spent New Year’s Eve at Times Square NYC watching the ball drop! It was amazing! 
Now, relaxing at home with my animals. Just perfect!
