I got it today! My counselor got notified I won a while ago and kept it a secret hahah 
@verizonwireless yes my parents were there, but they weren’t notified until the night before. My recommender knew for about three weeks though.

Congrats to all the winners. @verizonwireless I don’t know about all of east coast but they are in Baltimore right now. My son was just surprised. Yes, I knew and sorry I didn’t post but I wanted to make sure he was surprised. And from what the Nordstrom lady told me, all schools do it differently. She had recently been at a school where they called the parents 10 minutes beforehand so don’t give up hope yet. I knew for a week.
Congrats to all. I am pretty sure my S is winning the award in 2 weeks. Hard to keep the secret! Did anyone see a psot where a winnder won a computer? I don’t know where I saw that. I will be shopping at Nordstroms.

@iwnwawbw…yes, they showed up with it when they came to school. And he was very surprised about it all
Do they give Mac Air to every award recipient? I hope DD will get hers this week. I know yesterday they surprised one student at Davis, CA. It was posted on Facebook.

I only know that our recommender called to tell us 8 days ahead of time. Not sure when he found out
@verizonwireless : Don’t be too worry. Your recommender wants to keep the secret even if s/he already knows. Advance notice to parents varies from hours to weeks from the information posted here. Nordstrom likes to surprise the winners.
