Confirmed decisions for EA on Jan 30, its a comment on a recent IG thread from the actual school handle
Has she tried schools like Auburn, Purdue, Florida State, University of Alabama?
Purdue pretty much fills for engineering during EA and is extremely competitive for engineering.
They say this every year and then it comes out a few days earlier!
For the last two years, the results have come out on the last Friday of Jan. Jan 26th is the last Friday of Jan this year, so fingers crossed!
Probably a dumb question but do all undergrad applicants receive the email reminding them to apply for FAFSA? D24 and I both got it today from NCSU but had only gotten the same email from the other schools once she was accepted. I realize itâs probably just timing of FAFSA this year, and a mass email, but looking for any clues. I know probably reaching here. We are so anxious as NCSU is her top choice.
We got it today, not applying for financial aid, and my son was admitted early in December for Park, so my guess is just a mass email sent. Hope you get good news soon!
We got it today. Have gotten from several schools. I dont think it means anything.
So I wonât bother asking my question about the significance of the FAFSA email (2nd one weâve received from NC State). Curious that both emails arrived on early action / decision dates for many schools (December 15 and January 15).
Interesting. We got them for the 4 other NC universities my daughter applied to, but it wasnât until after sheâd been accepted. Oh well, false hope! The waiting is excruciating when we have already heard from everywhere else she applied EA.
Is NC State her first choice?
Yes. She actually applied for graphic design and was rejected so she is still being considered for her 2nd choice of exploratory studies. I think she has a good chance but not sure. My niece graduated from NCSU a few years ago and told us several of her sorority sisters got rejected for college of design too but still got in to State with another major choice and were able to eventually go into design or design studies there. Apparently they only take something like 25-30 freshmen for graphic design every year.
Wow, this is really interesting info. My youngest is interested in graphic design. I know their design school is impressive, but I didnât realize how competitive it is. So you learn that earlier?
My niece did exploratory last year and loved it, I would encourage that as my own kidâs backup also.
Yes, all of the college of design programs notify in Dec because the ones that donât get rejected right away get invited for an interview so they actually wonât get their decision until mid-Feb. At least this is the case for graphic design but i think also for the other design programs too such as industrial design and architecture. They are all very competitive to get in. I do think some kids get accepted for design and some get invited to interview before a decision is made. My daughterâs friend got an interview, different school from her though.
Sounds promising to me. Wishing you and your daughter the very best.

Big congrats on UT Knoxville acceptance! They have been very competitive the past few years. I have a friend who graduated from Tickle and is a very successful engineer and a proud alum. I have several Volunteer alumni family, too, all with great experiences there.
D24 just found out sheâs a Park finalist. <3
Same - congrats!
Thatâs awesome!! Congratulations!!
