I keep refreshing the page but I don’t see the results in my portal. I did receive an extra email regarding the enrollment deadline, does this mean anything?
Check your portal for a second application from 3/20 you were probably offered spring connect! Congrats!!
If you haven’t yet, delete cookies/cache and log back in to Wolfpaw.
Just FYI-
My son was deferred EA. We have been following this thread and he was never able to login to the WolfPack portal using the hack. He was able to sign up for the Experience NC tour for admitted students yesterday, though. I was hoping that was a good sign!
Got the news at 5 today that he was ACCEPTED into the Exploratory Studies Program!!
His WolfPack login was first initial, middle initial, last 5 of last name (even though last name has 6 characters) and the number 2. This is why it wouldn’t work earlier in the week for us….we were using the 6 characters in the last name.
Congrats to everyone who was accepted today! This has been quite the journey
Hahah looks like you were right! Thank you!
Anyone accepted for spring? My son was and is considering bc of Prague study abroad. He’s narrowing down between OSU accepted EA and NC State deferred EA accepted Spring Connect and waiting to hear from South Carolina (his top choice) he was waitlisted - Sports Management major. Any thoughts?
Does anyone know when decisions for honors college come out? Would that be part of the admissions acceptance or does it come out after?
Are you out of state for both?
Honors college decisions come out about two weeks after admission.
Congrats,
S24 EA at Purdue for Business / Mathematics
He was waitlisted EA at Carolina (which I think we all no is pretty much a firm no) and was deferred EA and now Waitlisted RD at NC State for Business.
North Carolina - Wake County
A Top Magnet School (which definitely impacts class rank here)
3.75 / 4.25 with 10 AP / 2 IB Courses
33 ACT / 1450 SAT
8 x Varsity (3 sports) / 4x Captain
3 EC Clubs
Wake County Tax - who knows. It’s comical to take a 30,000 foot view on the relative merits of so many students, see their accept / deny / deferred / waitlists - and realize theres very little logical consistency to be found.
We had a very similar experience with our D22 - waitlisted at UNC, waitlisted / accepted Michigan, accepted EA at Texas, deferred / accepted NCSU. Ultimately she chose Texas as its #1 program in nation for her College/Major ….but for both of them….who would have thought getting into Michigan/Texas/Purdue out of state would be comparatively easier than as an instate at NCSU.
We have one more high achiever to go in 2026, and She’ll be applying to 25 schools because it’s just so random.
EA honors college just came out recently. They take 550 out of 10,000 applicants as a frame of reference.
Interestingly, some kids who were “waitlisted” in EA at UNC were accepted yesterday, so it seemed to have been more of a deferred situation. Not waitlist truly is that from here on out, I think.
No movement on that front for S24. So far his other cohort level friends (about 20+ on UNC wait list as well) have not reported any decision changes.
As I told him, and D24 before him, it’s always possible to come off the waitlist - even rather late. I myself received an admit to Michigan mid-summer and in my professional school there were two students who received admits 5 days INTO the school year to join the class.
I realize the admissions process is stress inducing to almost everyone, no matter what, but observing the capriciousness of who’s in where and who’s not in where seems to suggest apply everywhere you’ld remotely consider going (application fees not withstanding) and try not to get to wrapped up into any one school. We’re just in the fortunate position of being able to afford to send ours wherever, within reason / for majors with some chance of being economically viable. But I feel for them every time they’ve gotten an email notice to check their status.
Interesting…we know 2 kids from our area waitlisted EA who got emails yesterday at 4 pm (like RD kids) that they had been accepted.
we are in NC so OOS for OSU and USC.
I’m sure you are aware of the historical Waitlist numbers at UNC - with the exception of the first admit class during COVID the waitlist to admit percentages are very low.
Perhaps what you’re hearing about with EA WL students now receiving Admits at RD this week has something to do with the SCOTUS ruling and impacts on how to allocate class seats now. Maybe assigning fewer EA admits than in the past and waitlisting more to see who the EAs are that accept their offers first are? I suspect it may have something to do with what we’ve heard as the rather large number of NCSU Deferrals on EAs from very qualified students from my S24 HS class. The counselors seem to be telling them there are fewer admits and more deferrals from their class than in years past.
Between COVID Test-Optional Admissions cycles, SCOTUS ruling which I don’t think schools have yet figured out how to navigate, and the current Governmental FAFSA debacle - I think we’re in some strange times.
I suspect, and we may know better in 5 -10 years, whats happened is more students (in absolute numbers) have applied to significantly more schools per student, and the Schools are having difficulty working thru how to adjust to court rulings and still try to bring some form of heterogeneity to their admitted classes so they are pushing more admit/deny decisions further down the calendar trying to see who’s accepting the offers from the offers they’ve already extended, and the lack of transparent FAFSA guarantees for students / parents is likely keeping more of the students (and parents) with EA and now RD admits at multiple schools from going forward and sending in their decline notifications to schools.
I suspect, there are students holding onto a larger number of offers while waiting on FAFSA clarity, and while understandable this likely slows the entire process down for students who were either Deferred / Wait listed at EA and those who are now Waitlisted on RD - because those slots which would have opened up sooner in previous years are still pending.
We are somewhat guilty of doing that as well as S24 has not Accepted his current primary choice out of the schools he has acceptances at (I’ve insisted he must do a multi-day campus visit before accepting at a school) so he too is sitting on a few school acceptances he is pretty unlikely to consider at this point (unless his campus visit in April is terrible). If he had been admitted off WL to UNC of now NCSU, I think he’d/we’d have declined the other offers other than Purdue - and be down to true decision points. He did pull his applications at a couple of schools we all considered ‘safety’ once a couple of admits had come in, but we are also a small part of the problem holding on to seats he won’t / can’t fill.
I also find it interesting that schools he has offers at have now delayed their accept/decline (monetary commitment) dates and pushing them back 2-4 weeks. Purdue has straight up relayed in their emails it’s due to the uncertainty on the Financial Aid packages. And along those lines, he received ‘scholarship’ offers from a couple schools which have been enhanced / bumped / beefed up a couple of times since his initial offer of admissions.
Oh yes! This is why I found it interesting that mine knows two who were taken from the waitlist before summer, and I wonder if EA waitlist could also be considered deferred. We also know kids who were denied but assured admissions next year as a transfer with a much smaller application process. Seems to happen in the bigger, more competitive counties.
Did anyone get an email from NC State advising people that decisions had come out? We only learned that decisions had come out by being a part of this thread lol. We still don’t have an email from them. Did anyone else get one?
My son received an email notification that his Status had changed - it went junk, and was located when his closets friend told him he’d been waitlisted. Then his cohort classmates all started chiming in on a megachat messaging thread and a lot of sad face emojis on being WL (and a few rejections). Both he and his friend. been deferred at EA - but were applying in different Colleges - Engineering // Sciences // Poole Management. Check your WolfPaw Portal and look for updates there.
Are you in state or out of state?
