Hello, Iām applying EA to NC State, here are some of my stats!
Unweighted GPA: 3.84
Weighted: 4.44 (5.0 scale)
ACT: 29
SAT: havenāt taken yet, though I expect to get 1300-1350
Major: Architecture
ECs:
I donāt think this counts as an EC but I also am taking dual enrollment classes like drawing I, 2d design, and 3d design I spend lots of time drawing and working with art though idk how to include it in my application.
I feel like Iām not doing enough towards architecture, and the program is very selective; what should I do?? Also, they recommend that people who intend to apply for a design major should choose a second choice major just in case, but I donāt know what to choose as my second choice major.
In state or OOS? NC State is a very difficult admit for OOS and given the selectivity of most architecture programs would add another level of challenge.
NC State accepts a portfolio (cant recall if optional or required). I would suggest engaging with their architecture program - they likely offer admission sessions - and get specifics what tbey are looking for in a portfolio⦠and hopefully you have pieces that fit that criteria or can work up something in the next couple of months.
Luckily, Iām in-state. I will definitely check to see what they look for in their portfolio and pray that I have some of what theyāre looking for
Your grades are there from an overall admissions standpoint but getting into Arch programs often comes down to the portfolio. Doing an information session with them will give you insight into how they view it.
Some of the Arch enrollment target numbers are low, unlike other majors. Do keep UNC Charlotte and others as safety.
S25 applied 10/14. In-state engineering. Fingers crossed! 1520 SAT, 3.95 UW/4.5 W GPA, on track for IB diploma, top 12% of class at Wake County HS.
Good luck, everyone!!
Quick question - do not see an application status on wolfpaw applicant portal ; meaning there is nothing that indicates what the status is - as āin reviewā or ācompleteā or something like that.

Brother went to Nc State (I donāt think this helps, maybe it does.)
Applying to Poole College of Management for Finance.
Son was just accepted and named Park Semifinalist! Any advice from folks who have been through the process before? Didnāt expect to hear this early.
I think you are looking great. What was your back up major? DS has similar stats, answered all essays and extensive EC. Selected Marketing and Undecided.
Congrats!! I see a decision for Park (not accepted) but donāt see an admission decision. Was it the same letter?
He got 2 separate letters and 2 separate emails with āThereās an update to your statusā for Admission and then Park. We are OOS, not sure if that makes a difference. We had a chance to visit last year and really liked the vibe there and the Engineering Campus (He is tracking for the Biomedical Engineering Joint program with UNC). FWIW we really liked NC State better and the people were much friendlier and itās obviously much more Engineering focused which he likes.
Apparently last year there were 2500 applicants for Park, 450 Semi, 112 Finalists, and 35 Scholarships. I know itās extremely competitive. Realistically the only way we could afford it is if he gets the scholarship since OOS is so expensive.
That is amazing!! Congratulations on this achievement!
Iām an OoS COD applicant and Iām pretty sure I got accepted! My portal changed this morning, and the notification date section went away, but I figured the decision was coming soon anyways, because they said late December notification.
I tried the AED thing in the UnityID Portal that the other threads were talking about, and it told me ācongratulations on your admission to NC Stateā so I really hope thatās true, and I actually get in when the real letter is posted in WolfPAW. It mentioned nothing about an interview, so Iām assuming itās full acceptance.
I thought the date was 1/30 for NC State ED not late December. It was released on 1/27 last year.
College of Design receives an update late December because there are potential interviews for certain majors
I just got my official decision letter in WolfPAW, OoS COD accepted!!! Wed Dec 18th at 5pm est!
Good luck to everyone!
It appears it is only for Park Semifinalists that find out early, I wasnāt expecting it.
