I’m guessing many more offered but very low yield for this program
So second class citizens placed with roommates who couldn’t get along with their first roommates? Not for my kid.
Are the 200 spaces in London held just for NUin students, or for NUIn plus NU Bound? They both take place at the same school.
Or they’re concerned about yield because it sounds like you have other options you’re more interested in than attending NEU. Admissions figures it out and each school is looking for the high achievers who not only want but will attend their school if admitted.
Or placed with students whose roommates are going on coop.
I have traveled internationally but made no mention of it on my app. I did not show interest in any of these int’l programs. I believe I may been chosen due to family income and perhaps a less than perfect SAT score (could only take once) which would adversely affect their ratings.
lol why do you care if you don’t want to join leave the NU thread lol
NU In has been around for 11 years. It has been very successful but is clearly not the right option for your student. Time to move on.
Good points! Wishing you success wherever you decide to land!
Unless something changes, the hotel room is a single. They are assigned a roommate (or roommates) the spring semester.
Thank you. The sour grapes were starting to rot!
Hmmm. I watched some of the student NUin Boston videos from 2020 on YouTube. It looks like they show two to a room at the Westin. Maybe you can choose to get a single? Looking forward to the release the housing info for this year’s program. It seems to be taking a long time.
I agree that some students might love it. It seems pretty interesting to me but I don’t know too much about it yet.
I am still trying to connect with a student who lived in the Westin last year. I want to hear their take on it, good and bad! If anyone can connect me, please message me directly. Thank you!
I see. Do you know how the program was impacted during 2020 because of COVID?
For 2020 NCH only housed British students. Others studied remotely.
Thank you. Do you think the students from the U.S. will be studying remotely for the next coming year?
Seems like it could give you a good set of close friends to go back to Boston with…
Yeah, I think this experience would help you create strong bonds with your peers when you go back to Boston.
My D lives with two students who came through NUin. They are very smart kids spread out in all different majors and (I can’t stress this enough)…no one cares or treats them as second class citizens. In fact, the kids put their awesome study abroad experiences on their LinkedIn and my kid was jealous of their time abroad
It’s not for everyone, especially if it’s financially difficult to do. But the kids are placed in wonderful accommodations, take real classes, and travel regionally and locally in their off-time. It’s a safe study-abroad experience in amazing locations.
