Someone previously mentioned that the second wave is usually acceptances for people who went to T-20 schools. Do you guys think your current school’s ranking plays a role in your application? I don’t go to a T-20, but I go to a large, public research university.
I guess it depends more on your progress and what you accomplished at that specific school, but just wanted to get a few opinions!
I don’t think it has much of a difference. I saw some post that says that sometimes they might give offers to people not at t-20 schools because they did not have the same opportunities
I definitely think the prestige of the school is important. Hence why people from G-town and Notre Dame get in pretty early
@karlmarxismydad In transfer threads from previous years, acceptances were also sent out in the evening even in the early waves. I’ve also seen some people say they received acceptances around 11:30 AM or so, which is why I noted that earlier. I think it just varies. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if anyone hears good news this evening
yeah, it is also possible that people could have gotten in now, but just don’t post on cc
@karlmarxismydad Idk how NU views it, but some top schools actually don’t like lateral transfers because that don’t find that they could receive something there that they wouldn’t else where. Then again, NU doesn’t actually have a “why Transfer” question, so idk how much they factor that in
Got excited when I saw that I received an email from NU then I quickly realized it was just from the Daily Northwestern, lol
@karlmarxismydad The current members could consist of some admitted students, but I also know that there’s around that many current students in the group to ask questions. They’re usually peer mentors/orientation leaders & stuff like that
I don’t know what to think. So question to people who study old stats? Acceptances are always in the morning and rejections in the evening? Thoughts? I didn’t hear anything so if that is true and I get an email around that time, I might puke if no one gets in in evening rounds.
I’m from a top 30 University and haven’t received anything.
@sstayingpositive i could be wrong, but last year was only time they released morning decisions?
@sstayingpositive No, people that have been accepted have also received acceptances in the evening according to old threads
I recommend looking through threads from the past 3 years to get a sense of everything for yourself
@northwestern30 I think you’re right. I didn’t see any morning decisions in the years before last. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think all acceptances were sent in the morning last year either
Edit: Yep, I just checked. Last year, some people that were accepted received their emails around 5-5:30
That’s so peculiar! Well, I feel like knowing this thread someone might have been accepted then lol so the fact that no one was makes me unsure they went out in the morning this year. Thanks for the response though!
I think our best bet is around 6:30 Eastern time tonight. If nothing, then there will most likely be a wave next wednesday
I am new to cc and this thread. Just wanted to let you know I got in two weeks ago today. I got an email sent to me at 5:30 CT. I was surprised and totally psyched! I am transferring in as a sophomore. My stats are a top 20 University with a GPA of 3.9. I had a 4.0 weighted GPA at a super competitive high-school. My ACT was a 34. I really don’t know why I heard so early–I applied in the first week of March. Good luck to everyone!
@etransfer2019 Wow, amazing stats. Congrats on getting in!
@etransfer2019 congrats! when were your materials all received?
Thanks, I think right around March 5th, but not too sure. I applied to a few schools right around then so not sure exact date when everything was received.
okay, and by chance if you are in the transfer 2019 facebook group, do you know how many other accepted people are in it?
