There were quite a bit of acceptances today, it seems like perhaps this wave was the one with a majority of the acceptances and I feel like they’ll slowly begin to dwindle. I didn’t receive a decision yet today so here’s to another week of waiting!
@northwestern30 Yeah…I’m trying not to worry. I just looked back at last year’s thread and there will still a lot of acceptances coming out in May
Email came in at 3:21 pst, so 5:21 central
hey! so my stats are a bit odd but here they are:
I currently go to a t40 lac in upstate NY and finished fall semester with a GPA of 3.42 which is low but we are notorious for grade DEflation. my grades are better this semester and I’m taking 5.25 credits when the average load is 4.0-4.5 depending on if people are in a lab.
I went to a top 5 prep/boarding school and we didn’t start GPAs until my junior year and even then it was out of 7, and a 7.0 GPA or even more than 1 or 2 7.0s in classes were supposed to be unattainable. When converting grades for the UC system application our B- to B+ equivalents counted as As. I believe my GPA was 5.45 out of 7.0, and my senior year every class was college-level.
My extracurriculars in high school were choir, select choir, jv hockey, selective student leadership, head of 2 community service clubs, newspaper, 2 or 3 seasons in other jv sports, among a few other things. by my senior year I held leadership positions in just about everything I was involved in and graduated with an award for giving back significantly to the school community throughout my four years.
in college I’m a member of our debate team, synchronized skating team, choir, and newspaper, and have been selected to be an assistant section editor for the paper next year.
My stepfather and stepbrother both attended northwestern, and I was a Medill Cherub in the summer of 2017. for those of you who don’t know, we cover the freshman year Medill curriculum over the course of 5 weeks and 50% of cherubs who apply to northwestern are admitted. I applied ED last year and was deferred, then applied ED2 to the college I currently attend.
for testing my ACT “superscore” when used is a 33: I’ve gotten a 36 on both English and reading comprehension, the highest math ive gotten has been 30 and highest science has been 29. the SAT superscore is a 1440. For SAT II I got a 710 on lit and 690 on Spanish.
good luck to the rest of yall, I hope good news comes your way soon!!!
So has no one who applied to engineering/applied sciences heard back yet?
(currently waiting for more news from the 3:21 pm PST people)
seems like most acceptances are for Weinberg
@zzyvincent So far today there have been 3 weinberg acceptances, 1 medill, and 1 SOC
is this year the earliest it has ever been announced? (im looking back at the previous threads)
Does anyone know if, historically, acceptances usually come in bunches with respect to their colleges? e.g. most of the Weinberg come at once, most of the SOC come at once, etc.?
@vbstrvctchicvno nope they come randomly
@vbstrvctchicvno I don’t think so. A good amount of Weinberg applicants were getting acceptances in May last year. I think Weinberg might have the most applicants…I could be wrong though…
Hey guys, when is your estimate of the next wave? Thanks
I got accepted to the school of communications. Words cannot describe. I got mine at 4:21 MT.
@sstayingpositive Congrats! It’s great to see someone that’s been active on here get in(:
@sstayingpositive congrats!!! i know people are saying it doesnt matter when you applied, but when were your materials received?
Hello, I was accepted into Weinberg. I am not from a tier 20 school and I sent my application in pretty late.
4.0 GPA from California CC (applied as a junior)
I think I had around a 4.3 weighted GPA in HS
1520 SAT + 3/4’s on AP tests
Decent EC’s
To those who were accepted do we have three weeks from today to respond? That’s a really tight schedule which worries me. A lot of the schools I applied to don’t even come out until like June 1st
Ok…wow…this is actually a pretty big wave for this early on. Now I am a bit worried
its been like 10 people - dont worry
YOU GOT THIS @Ashtash
