Northwestern Transfer Applicants Fall 2019

Hello! Congratulations to all the students who have been admitted, and best of luck to those still waiting on their decisions! We are Northwestern University’s Transfer Student Organization, the first student organization at Northwestern University dedicated to enhancing the experience of transfers on campus.

The Transfer Student Organization (TSO) was founded in 2017 to help fill in the gaps and facilitate the transition of transfer students to their new home at NU. Through social events, mentorship pairings, and informative programming, TSO strives to make transfer students feel more at home on campus, and cater to the specific needs of transfer students which may sometimes be overlooked.

Feel free to send an email to tso@u.northwestern.edu with any questions you may have about Northwestern, our transfer experiences, or the transfer process in general. Also, follow our new Instagram account @transfersofnu to hear from current students about their transfer stories, and how Northwestern has impacted them.

Congratulations again, and we hope to see you here in the fall!

Thoughts on decisions coming out this wednesday?

Who knows… @summit3

@summit3 I agree that it is anyone’s guess, but it would appear to be the most likely day this week.

Should I send in my final grades ASAP or maybe wait to see if I get admitted in the next two weeks? Final grades for my current schools aren’t officially due for another week, so I could stall if I wanted to.

4.0 Fall Semester
3.6 This semester (I’m transferring as a sophomore so these would be my only grades):
A+ in gen ed
A in gen ed
B in gen ed science
A+ in graduate course in my major
and B+ in intro to computer science.

3.6 is low, so I’m thinking of waiting, but the A+ in the graduate course might be good enough to balance the B’s.
What do you think?

@broobro No, don’t send them

NU is my last decision. Really hoping it comes today

@Ashtash You don’t think so? Are the two B’s too low? The A+'s only count for 4.0, not 4.3 or anything.

@broobro A 3.6 is too harsh of a drop from a 4.0. Right now they think you’re a consistent A student. If you send your 3.6, that will be questioned.

Ok. Yeah that’s true.

Anyone thinks we are getting our decisions today?

I think we will. We didn’t have a wave last week, so they’re not going to hold it in.

What time would it be?

6:21

Really need something good, NU’s my last shot now (besides trying to get off the Columbia waitlist lol)

eastern time?

yes, 6:21 est

Rejected, but I’m going to my first choice, so it all worked out in the end(:

They’re out! I got in! woooooo. I can’t believe it!
