The first batch already came out?
@bubblemaker They did, yes
@minusthebear so sorry to hear that. Would you mind sharing how you were notified? Best of luck to you in the future
Sorry to hear your result:(
Thanks for letting us know
@transferapps23 I received an email
I was also rejected a few min ago! good luck everyone else still in the running!
Keep your head up @minusthebear; you got some other great universities to hear back from! You got this!
Best wishes from Cali
Hey @McDrew123 thanks, you too.
Could you post stats @minusthebear ?
Good news: Somehow didn’t get rejected
Bad news: I have a 1st semester 2.78 GPA and a 3.45 midterm GPA from a top 75 school. Unlikely events happen every day, but I don’t think I’ll be getting in.
News for the future: Northwestern is the place for me. It has a super exotic program that’s right up my alley, and I have significant gratitude for what it’s done to my family. I am going to apply next year with a stronger college GPA, but I don’t know how the school will react to a reject applying again. Has anyone here applied to transfer twice and got in?
@Artyom_Ra Keep your head up! I don’t know of any transfers that applied twice, but I’m sure there are some, including ones that were successful the 2nd time around. I do remember seeing applicants that were rejected as freshman applicants but accepted as rising sophomore transfer applicants, so they certainly don’t look down on you for applying twice. I was actually denied last year as a high school senior, but I’m hoping to be accepted as a transfer. As someone who’s applying for the second time, I do feel like my essays for NU are better than they were last year. I also have a better understanding of what I’m looking for, so I think that will show as well.
If things don’t go your way this year, you should definitely improve your overall app and try again! Best of luck!
I can’t believe decisions are coming out already. I know last year the first wave was mostly denials, and it was a week later than this year. Maybe some good chunks of acceptances will start coming out next week? Wishful thinking, but maybe.
To those that were denied, keep your heads up! This one decision is not indicative of your others. Sorry to hear about the result, but you’ve got this! Best of luck with your remaining decisions!
@Ashtash don’t worry, my head is very up! I’m going to be happy however this application goes! I didn’t get the GPA I would have liked last semester, but I wasn’t in a good place mentally and prioritized (and succeed at) working my way out of that rut.
At the end of the day that semester is 12.5% of my GPA, which is merely a number. It’s a very important number, and should be taken very seriously, but there is so much more to life than that. Hell, this application process has taught me how to temper my expectations, and is/was the mother of all motivators during the comeback season that is this semester.
Whatever challenges await me next year, either at Northwestern or Lehigh, excite and motivate me.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Wow, didn’t know they already released the first round today. That put me in a shock mode lol. Didn’t get an e-mail from them today.
I received the ‘Completed’ e-mail on Fri., March 8.
Last year they sent out application updates every other Wednesday starting with the first Wednesday round of rejections in early April. It’s likely that the next round of admissions decisions will be released on the 17th of April.
@transferstu1818 According to last year, do you know if the next round will be acceptances? Or are they all rejections again?
@oceansquare I think they were a mix of both
The first wave last year was April 11th and they were mostly rejections. Second wave was April 25th and they were mostly acceptances. People then heard back on May 2nd and some were accepted and some were rejected. After that it seemed to be smaller random batches of decisions. It was three big waves and then it was more sporadic in May. Some people didn’t hear back until the last day in May.
Wow, that makes my anxiety much worse not having any indication of an acceptance or not ?
Since the first wave of denials was so early this year, I wonder if that means the first waves of acceptances will be early too. I guess, hopefully, we’ll find out next Wednesday…
