Notre Dame Restricted Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

Ha, I looked it up today. The last two years were Dec 15 and Dec 16. About 10-12 days before that, they announced on Insta the release dates.

My daughter made a hand reference list of the past few years’ decision dates:

2023 Friday 12/15

2022 Friday 12/16

2021 Thursday 12/16

2020 Wednesday 12/16

2019 Friday 12/13

For REA they release on one day at one time, it is not a slow release of letters.

Last year it was 12/17 but it has been earlier in years past- as you can see by the comment below, 12/17 was “late” for ND they are usually a few days prior.

They always release at 6:42pm EST on whatever date they choose. They will announce it on the Admissions IG page. Last year they posted on IG on 12/5 that the release would be 12/17. Hopefully we will know something by the end of this week in regard to an exact date.

It is getting real! My daughter is also waiting for another EA school that releases about the same time and we do not yet know the date. Announcing about 2 weeks ahead seems pretty typical.

I am curious and not trying to cast “portal astrology” vibes. Did any of you get an email directly from your Notre Dame AO thanking you for sending in your application?

This was the only such email that we got from any school that we applied to.

I thought it was so classy.

D26 thought that this meant that she was rejected (lol).

The countdown to Dec 16 has begun! D26 so nervous / excited.

My daughter got one right after she applied.

You should be VERY proud of yourself and you will be successful no matter what happens. I would accept you if I was them. 1500 is amazing! Congrats!

Just anxiously awaiting over here! GOOD LUCK to all!

I have a freshman in college this year and a high school senior and I seemed to have forgotten how difficult the wait for results is. It’s still 3 more days!!

Yep. This will be a great week or a very sad week for our daughter. She has the stats I believe, but she understands the competitiveness. Either way, she seems to have prepared herself well. Fingers crossed though.

I’m pretty sure my daughter has the stats too, it’s all the other intangibles we don’t know. So many unknowns in this process.

Agreed.

Same.

Is it out?

DD got a deferral. Next decision in March. Frustrating to say the least but curious to know what her chance are now. 1500 SAT, Varsity cheer co-captain, 3/780, 9 APs (5’s except one 4), volunteer at orthodontist, teaches special needs dance, all of academic honors, science honors, Spanish honors, student council, etc..

Daughter got accepted!

Stats:

1550 SAT, 4.0 gpa (4.94 weighted), 5s on all 6 APs taken, 4 more in spring

ECs are good, but not spectacular. No major awards.

Pretty good essays. No way of telling how good the teacher rec was.
