What should exactly happen to the FA status?

@bobcat97 it chould change from award access unavailable to 2016 no self service available

*should

thanks so much @NYUgirl10

is anyone else freaking out as much as i am bc they didnt get an FA change yet

@NYUgirl10 well! i am doing yoga now. Lol!

@Smnparish I don’t recall what it said on Albert, but I remember that the decision date was definitely changed. It was December 15 before. So I’m pretty sure it first said December 15 on Albert. However, they changed it to December 13 (Friday) and Shawn Abbott notified us via his blog that we are getting the decisions earlier than expected: <a href=“MEET NYU - Home”>MEET NYU - Home;

As I mentioned before, it started coming at the “pre-dawn” hours. However, if it’s the same case as last year, you do not want those e-mails until later in the afternoon! (3 PM or after is the acceptance e-mails).

@NYUgirl10 Don’t worry! As far as I can recall there were definitely people getting the change very late. Still, don’t freak out if you don’t get the change. You can check last year’s thread and see the days before the results come in if you want to make sure. I’m in LSP going into Gallatin.

@"Siberian Siren" Where are you spending your freshman year of LSP? What do you like about LSP so far, and what don’t you like? My program changed from CAS to LSP, so I am hoping for good news!

.

@girlintheworld LSP for me is kind of like a liberal arts college within the university. It’s really unclear what it is for everyone at first. Honestly, I think I love it. I came from a discussion-based prep school and it is more discussion than lecture (the bad side I guess is you don’t get to skip class most of the time). My schedule is pretty neat (no class Friday and next semester no class Monday and Friday, and all my classes start after 12:30—although this is just how lucky I got with scheduling).

The annoying part is that you don’t get to pick classes you want freshman year. There are three requirements first semester and three second semester. One first semester of sophomore year and one second semester of sophomore year. Other than that, you can pick whatever you want.

With that said, the core requirements are fine. If you were going to be in other schools, there are some other requirements anyway that you don’t have to do (e.g. the infamous Writing the Essay). It depends what school you plan to go to after two years in LSP, but I’m planning to go to Gallatin. I have a lot of free space to create my own concentration and take any classes I want. Obviously that is not going to happen until sophomore year but it doesn’t make a difference–I’m not missing out on anything. How good the core LSP classes are depends on the professor also. I hate lecture-based classes so when I have those I get a little bit bored. Check RateMyProfessors.

I’m in New York freshman year. If you get the option, I suppose you should choose to be here in freshman year so you get to meet people. Another downside to LSP I can think of is that you cannot go abroad fall semester of junior year because that’s the transition year.

Hope that clarifies some things for you. If you have any other questions about LSP let me know!

I applied ED in October. My program chnaged this week which I’m fine with, my financial aid shows access not available for 2014&2015 assuming this is because I did the summer program. And then I have no service access message I believe for 2016. Does this sound assuring that it looks like I got in based on what everyone is saying?

@Rahshe on the www.nyu.edu page…you need to log into your nyuhome login first…then click “academics” and then click the “abert login”…and then you should see the “applicant status” under “admissions”

my status still stays the same…does that mean i get rejected :((

Thank you so much! If I think of more questions I will ask but as of now I am good. I hope the change means I get in. I really want to go to Paris and continue to learn French.

@xinniiiye still no sign of applicant status/admissions…

does anyone else who applied for financial aid have a FAFSA hold showing on Albert?

@siberian siren thanks for the comment! id like to ask if the fa change was applicable to international students

@hunggngguyen Yes, international students get the FA change as well.

Hi I’m an international student who applied to Stern for ED1! This may seem like a stupid question but I didn’t apply for any FA. So that means I won’t get any changes in my fa status… right?

@siberian siren yeah i got the fa change and im an international applicant, but i read somewhere that the FA change theory (acceptance with FA change) does not apply to international students. Is this true?
