********NYU ED Class of 2020 Discussion**********

So from what I’m hearing if one attended the precollege, they would have the SAP for 2015 and 2016. My question if why would 2016 be included? The precollege took place during 2015.

@nfporter I’m not entirely read up on what’s going this year, but last year, once you got the change, it stayed. I didn’t hear of any cases where someone got the change and it went away. If you don’t have the change right now, odds are you didn’t get the change yet. However, from what I remember, some people got the change the day admission decisiosn came out. The way it worked last year was that having the FA change was a great sign, but if you didn’t get it, doesn’t mean you got rejected. Cheers!

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an idea what their application status page looks like? I worry about everything and I want to make sure mine is correct! Do you guys still just have the list of application requirements ticked off and the campus applied?
Thanks!

That’s what mine looks like.

Are some people now seeing drop-boxes with 2016, 2017 etc on their financial aid tabs, as opposed to the default “award access not available” statement (accompanied by accout inquiry drop-boxes which have no selections yet)? If so that would seem to be a strong indicator of acceptance; why would NYU put some people into the system for the next few years if they were declined? Makes no sense. Hope it’s good for some of us.

@SternHopeful11 Since you don’t find examples of people not having the SAP details I’m reluctant to say it is a definite indicator, although it does look like it could be one.

@curryeater259 no worries. Changing the code on your side to display something in already in the html code isn’t hacking, but in this case it’s not going to reveal anything. You could try to get the links in the html to get more info, but I’m too lazy to go down that rabbit hole.

@covery03 it would be obvious if something was missing. You really should check the common app too because it gives more details. Plus if somethings is missing they would have likely contacted you by now.

Five more days to go! :))

Checked the SAP link and found “Meeting SAP” for 2014-2015 (I attended Tisch Summer High in 2014) and “SAP Undetermined” for 2017. I don’t even know what this means!! What is SAP for? Is it for your NYU grades?

btw guys, the link that was posted that leads to SAP is NOT THE RESULT OF HACKING/ACCESSING INFO THAT ISN’T AVAILABLE. I know it’s freaky to discover new links this late into the game, but it’s absolutely not risky to click it.

I was curious as to where the link was found on Albert, so I did some exploring into the links available and found that if you select “Student Center” in the drop down links, you’ll find the link to “Satisfactory Academic Progress.”

@gothosaurus my best guess is that precollege programs are considered a year-long class in the system. I took my program in 2014, but 2014 and 2015 show up for me. since you’ve taken it in 2015, 2016 shows up as well.

Where is the drop down menu?

@nfporter when in Albert, go into ‘financial aid’. You’ll come to that page where it says ‘award access not available’, and you’ll see two drop down menus that say ‘go to…’ in the upper right and lower left corners! btw, if you’re checking for SAP, no worries if you didn’t take precollege. I think it only shows up for precollege students and therefore, shouldn’t be a concern for other applicants. It’s just needless stress and might not even indicate anything.

@revenientis thanks!

GUYS YOU ARE FREAKING ME OUT!!! Just take a chill pill! :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if NYU will consider moving the release date to Friday (tomorrow) or Saturday. Last year RD the decision date was March 27th and they notify people on March 26th. So I guess keep checking the Admission Blog today?

The chance is very slim, but I believe the admission officers would want to wrap this up before weekend, because it’s easier for them. Also, many kids don’t follow the Admission Blog and/or College Confidential, and I think they’ll release it on Albert a bit earlier than they said to avoid 5000 ED applicants logging in to Albert at the same time, potentially creating trouble for them.

On a slightly different note, it looks like those who have the FA change after the “big reset” of the second wave gets to keep it. This is very much like RD last year. Just an observation for people to take into consideration :stuck_out_tongue:

i really doubt it. they sent out an email to everyone saying that they were going to release decisions on the 15th. they seem pretty set on that date

Guys, if I did not get the FA change, does it mean that I am rejected? Also, does this apply to NYU NY or all the campuses? This is so frustrating… -_-

@Ahlesaadat take this with a grain of salt but I really haven’t seen anybody without an FA change and got in. Though the last wave if I remember correctly is today or tomorrow for last year’s ED. So keep yourself posted. Also, you could have received a change in the second wave before it was “reseted” and you simply didn’t catch it.

@crownvic yeah the chance that they’ll push forward a few days is slim. But I wonder will they continue to release decisions in waves now that it is on Albert. I seriously don’t want to stay up all night and then if I haven’t been rejected constantly checking my phone in class that day.

@ferrarivettel Thanks for the answer man. It’s just that I didnt know about any of the “Waves” and I just check around an hour ago and saw that I didnt have it so that worried me. Thanks!
