NYU ED Class of 2023

Also, do applicants with “off campus living” also experience that housing glitch? I know the majority of you are experiencing this for the first time but I got really confused after searching housing changers in 2022 and 2020 forum

@Hilltop18 really? that’s interesting. no one’s ever mentioned it in either previous threads or reddit though, do you know why she got accepted was early?

@Casebycase i think you should see the word ‘freshman’ in your housing page. but it doesn’t happen til close to dec 15

@natasha1313 Not sure why maybe it had something to do with her being a tish applicant.

@Hilltop18 was she in acting? or film?

Hey guys - just as a note for those anxiously checking Albert. My D was a RD applicant last year. There are a series of changes to Albert that happen in the weeks before decisions are out. The wording changes on the main screen. Some people see housing options. The list goes on - as the admissions dept prepares to release decisions, Albert will go down several times. Some of the changes are “tells” about the progress of your application but most of them aren’t, it’s just the nature of Albert. You can get as excited as you want about these changes - it’s a free country and you’re bored and anxious and there’s nothing else to do but stress. I am just letting you know - my D got none of them. No change in wording, no early housing portal. I was pretty bummed out by the time decisions came, convinced that she’d been rejected - and she was accepted. So enjoy the excitement of checking Albert but know one thing is true: it ain’t over until you get your decision. Don’t despair prematurely. Just hang in there!!! I wish you all the best of luck.

Does it mean anything that when I go on Albert and click the “NYU Housing Payments” button, it takes me to this page titled “Welcome to the New York University Office Suite (eSuite)- Office of the Bursar”? Then it has a bunch of buttons on the side and my “Student Account ID” in the middle of the screen. Don’t know if this is normal.

@CaMom13 i’m trying not to care about the changes, however the housing change seems quite reliable. still idk tho

I actually see My information with Name, NYU ID, Net ID, Gender, and age on the left side, in the middle it says 'No Applications available". Is this something I should be worry about? I did selected off campus living in the common app.

Again. You guys are worrying about stuff not changing and you don’t even know if adcom has got round to looking at your application yet. Meaningless.

No @Casebycase don’t worry about it

@natasha1313 Acting I believe

really? 1st December?

Look at mid 60s pages of last year’s ED thread, like pages 64-65, just about everyone with acceptances and scholarships got no changes in FA or housing pages first.

so does that mean people who don’t get any FA or housing changes got accepted?

Some did, some did not. The key is to understand that there is not a 1:1 correlation between any change and acceptances. You will most likely not be able to divine your admissions decision based upon Albert updates or lack of updates.

Some people do see housing updates pre-decision in Albert and that is a good sign. But not seeing them is not a bad sign.

Housing changes that allow you to sign up for housing as a freshman => acceptance

But no housing change = no news and no indicator either way.

Imo, the FA change is complete bs because I tend to see more people got in without it, however even if the housing change seems way more reliable, I still won’t rely to it @collegeIZrubbish

I applied for psych and im getting more and more stressed every single day kjdfgnr what I hate most is that my chances are literally 50/50 bc of my sat score

I applied for tisch photo and just saw that they submitted my artistic review to admissions ahhhh

dangggg we’re all so anxious for this decision :))
