NYU ED Class of 2023

I can’t see how anyone would be able to log in to the email account without confirming the account creation through the NYU system before. I’ve had college emails before, this is how they work usually.

Do you know what the actual number of freshmen admitted to Tisch is?

@SJ2727 uhh yeah i know that, but some people actually tried to log in and it worked. hopefully just a glitch

It would only really “work” if they could access an internal NYU email directory directly from their account, were being sent standard emails (such as “welcome to NYU Mail” or whatever they do), etc. Would love to know if anyone can see that kind of thing…if that’s the case then yes, it’s worked.

what do you mean it worked? like then it is possibly an indicator? @SJ2727

Well I don’t see any evidence of it actually working yet.

Hey guys! You guys can all try logging into the NYU Email portal.

https://shibboleth.nyu.edu/idp/profile/SAML2/Redirect/SSO?execution=e4s1

It did not work for me… so hope you guys can all try and share if it worked. I don think it is an indicator, but it is worth the try! Let me know if anyone is able to log onto their NYU email portal.

Didn’t work for me either

@YooImTim i can’t open the link… which link is it?

Hey guys - just another note that you’re wasting your time but if you enjoy it, that’s fine. Your NYU email isn’t your N-ID at NYU it’s a combination of your intials and a 3 digit number - AAANNN at nyu.edu The suffix number is assigned when you set up your email and that happens after you are admitted and accept the offer. So until that happens you don’t actually know what your NYU email address is. Hope that helps someone.

Alright I just found something really interesting. Nothing is an indicator for sure!

If you do a password reset on https://start.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi you can get your detailed NYU account information. It shows ur university ID and what NYU portals you have access to. Everyone has the same access and it is not an indicator in any way…

Yes, @CaMom13 I totally agree. also if you do the following above^^ Your actual UniversityID (Starts with N and followed by 8 digits) is stated in the account information. You guys can check if you wish, but i do not know for sure if that is your actual university ID…

yeah after all it probably just glitches. 16 days everyone. let’s get this bread!!

@CaMom13 , “Your NYU email isn’t your N-ID at NYU it’s a combination of your intials and a 3 digit number ”…that’s what I’m seeing, abc123 format. I haven’t tried the portal because I still think it’s all just automatically done and doesn’t indicate anything. Many colleges do it this way, you get an ID when you apply (sometimes even before you apply in fact if they are soliciting you, my D has been sent IDs from colleges she had no intention of applying to.) If you are accepted it becomes your student number, if not it just disappears or gets recycled next year.

if youre on nyu home and you search up email it should show you

I didn’t have a ton of counselor editing support because I’m homeschooled through a cover school and my counselor is very busy. I’ve got a strong 4.0 and several film experiences, thought - should I be worried?

guys only 16 days left now I’m so nervous but excited! Hope everyone best of luck!!!

Hey guys, really excited for ED to NYU. Can anyone chance me for Stern? Thanks
