i read it earlier in the forum. not sure if its facts or speculation
Hey? So we will know NYU final decision by this Friday?
@yyy7758521 at this point who knows.
is anyone still waiting? or did everyone give up? lol…
i’m still waiting and still hopeful!
Still waiting for stern…
I was already accepted to Bentley and Fordham so a rejection at this point won’t do any harm.
I AM HERE STILL WAITING AND IT’S KILLING ME BUT CAN’T STOP CHECKING MY STATUS WHEN I KNOW THERE WILL BE NOTHING lol if anyone is here we’ll be fine…hopefully…
i called admissions and they explained to me everything is all over the place from covid, and that an early decision doesn’t necessarily mean that the applicant is stronger. hope we get some good news this friday! they said most will be released by then, and the last few will be release by next fri
So every time someone calls, they move their deadline forward another week? What a joke
wait so nobody received their decision today??? any updates?
Lol I called the Admissions office yesterday and the lady said June 15.
My response to her was:
“First you guys say May 15, once it’s May 15, you change it to last week of May. Which is no problem at all. Once it’s finally the last week of May, you say June 1th. Now it’s June 2nd and all off a sudden you’re telling me that I have to wait untill June 15?”
Then she said “the admissions decisions are on rolling basis I can’t tell when or whatever”
Then I said: “I get that but can you atleast tell them that the International students who are stuck in the US due to covid-19 have to fix their I-20 or else they/I will get in trouble?”
She: “The admissions decisions are on rolling basis I cant tell(…)”
Me: “I understand it completely ma’am. I’m not trying to put the blame on you. I’m juet trying to let you know that alot of students have been accepted to schools like Columbia or USC but their nr 1 choice is NYU. They have been waiting for so long and the deadline of their decision is almost near. Would you mind telling them that?”
She: “ma’am the admissions decisions are on rolling basis (…)”
Me: “Ok. No problem. Thank you”
I understand that everything is getting out of hand due to covid-19 but all I asked was for her to atleast let them know the situation of the students, but she didn’t wanna listen to what I was telling her.
Welp. Hopefully they won’t let us wait untill freakin June 15.
Maybe I came of a bit rude idk. It’s the Portuguese in me I sometimes cannot hold my temper in. ???
What an utterly horrible remark. The knowledge of the difference between fact and opinion is quite powerful, and unfortunately, it is clear that you have not gained it yet.
This is no place for that kind of statement, and I hope appropriate action is taken regarding your comment and account.
Get with the times and drop your tunnel vision; that, or recluse yourself away from this forum and from the rest of the modern world because your opinion is as good as no opinion – we won’t miss your views.
Hi,
Just gonna throw this out here (again)…I don’t know how old some of you are, but you all sound really young (20s) and very anxious/aggravated which is understandable.
As an older member (31), I have to say, reading half of the responses on here (asking for Zoom status meanings, check marks on applications etc) in addition to basically HARASSING the admissions office at NYU - it’s just not okay.
They said from the get-go that it would take until mid-June to receive decisions, constantly bombarding them with the same questions that we already know answers to isn’t going to speed up the process AT ALL. Rolling admissions processes typically take this long to sort through, especially during a time like this! And for some of you all who are not aware of the protests/riots in NYC - it’s also detrimental to workflow as well.
Lastly, for those on F-1 or I20 Visas, it is not the schools duty to renew them and you cannot hold a prospective school accountable for a visa expiry when you all were well aware of the expiry date. Having other options is SUGGESTED, please do not penalize a school because you were solely relying on renewals based on a rolling decision. That should be well THOUGHT OUT IN ADVANCE. I’m speaking as a former student, I am speaking as someone who has worked at a private university in LA.
Putting blame on NYU because of a situation that is out of their control is not helpful to them, not helpful to us who are following these threads. Stop calling them, stop complaining that they are taking forever to decide. Either be patient or accept another offer.
Yea! I’m also southern african tho.
I’m Angolan/Portuguese so that’s probably it hahaha

As someone who is turning 25 this year, I can tell you that I am NOT holding the school accountable. I’m trying to explain to them that it is NOT our fault that WE the international students ARE STUCK in this country due to CORONA VIRUS. We can’t go back to our country because if we do WE WON’T BE ABLE TO COME BACK DUE TO COVID-19.
I am trying to let them know how it is affecting US the Students who are NOT from here.
Second off all I am not harassing nobody. I’m just stating facts. It is indeed the schools duty to renew the i-20. The “I-20” document is FROM THE SCHOOL. Not from the ambassy or whatever.
Thank you. ?
Oh and btw, a lot of students have other options but NYU is their nr 1 option. The deadline for their decision is near but they really want to go to NYU. If you would have read my comment till the end you would have known that I said “i’m not blaiming nobody and I understand” so please as an “older member” do not put words in my mouth.
Have a nice day. ?

- You basically admitted to being rude to them.
- You mentioned in previous replies that you called them to get dates for admissions decisions.) They are aware of the COVID situation and international students - pressure on the admissions reps ain’t gonna help speed the process because they don’t get to decide who enters the school.
true.
