NYU Spring Transfer 2020

@letsliveallday I can

I think I used to be able to do things such as uploading a profile picture, but now I cannot anymore

@letsliveallday dont worry they are just updating the system probably, its nothing.

@letsliveallday never mind i dont have the profile either, I think its been like that since the beginning.

People who aren’t current students will not have profiles

ā€œYou may be seeing this message because you’re an alum, AN APPLICANT, or an INCOMING STUDENT. We ONLY load Profiles for students that are CURRENTLY matriculated.ā€

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Good luck with the last few weeks of this current semester and finals!

has anyone received any updates?

Got rejection letter from NYU today. My profile was :
School applied to: NYU Tandon
Major: Computer Engineering
GPA: 3.87 from CCNY, CUNY
Credit earned at the time of application: 56
Applied for financial aid: Yes
SAT: Waived. (they didn’t even ask me to submit it)

I’m heartbroken and don’t know what to say. Don’t even know what kind of applicant they are looking for. I have published 1 paper based on Machine Learning on Academic Research. Good luck everyone. Hopefully, you guys hear something good. Never applying to NYU again.

does anybody apply for Boston University?

@theblackvision

Sincerely sorry to hear that bro. I’m confused too why you didn’t get in with that great GPA.

However, don’t let this get to you. Though I don’t kno much about you, I’m going to say the following things… Hope you take the time to read it. And this is for anyone with a dream they want to achieve:

I feel that you are a hardworking student with the motives and heart to achieve greatness. Not anyone can get a 3.87 GPA in college no matter what the college is. Just because you didn’t get into NYU, doesn’t mean you won’t go on to achieve your dreams and amount to a high level of success. That’s amazing that you already published a research paper!

You may think ā€œit’s easy for me to sayā€ but it really isn’t.

I don’t know whether I’m accepted or not. Still haven’t received a decision yet. There is a good chance I get in and a good chance I don’t (especially hearing this). But I’m prepared for either scenario. If I’m accepted, good.

If I’m not, I’m human so of course I’ll be disappointed, but I know I won’t let it get to me because I know my worth, my abilities, the strong support I have behind me, and I know who I am.

Look at my username. I didn’t just randomly write that. There is a much deeper meaning behind it.

All I’m saying is it’s ok to feel disappointed. However don’t let it consume you. Know your worth. Know your abilities. Know who is there to support and guide you no matter what. And know the intelligent and unique person you are.

When you know these things, nothing will stop you from achieving your dreams.

Hope that helps bro @theblackvision

And this is for everyone and myself too.

With or without NYU, if we do these things, greatness and success shall be ours.

On my application it still says my standardized test scores are awaiting, but I have enough credits to not need to submit it. Does anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone know if it will be fixed once they review my application?

@enikka

That’s weird considering we are now in December, the two people in this forum that got accepted both submitted on the deadline (Nov. 1), and according to @theblackvision decisions are already done.

I’d give admissions a call, notify them about your test score status and see what they say. Either they indeed haven’t looked over your application yet (in which case, your status will change to ā€˜waived’ when they are done reviewing), or you may not have enough credits and thus need to send scores.

Hope that helps! :slight_smile: @enikka

Just to help out!

*** A CAS transfer applicant reported receiving an email regarding an admissions interview on this day.

Does anyone know why the dates for this year are all messed up? Seems like we skipped a week, now results are coming on Monday’s. Does the admissions office have any reason why?

@nyutransfer2020 I am also wondering what you are wondering.

This is beyond frustrating. From the sound of it, the school already knows who is accepted and who is rejected. Grotesque to make us keep waiting when this is where we will (hypothetically) be going to school in a mere MONTH.

At this point, I truly just need to know if it is a Yes or a No, so I can stop spending time worrying over this and logging into my portal at all hours of the day.

I also applied for CS, Tandon, and I haven’t seen any update. My GPA is 3.97 though. But I still got rejected by UCSD with a 4.0 GPA last semester (: So I think GPA does not mean everything.

@GreatnessIsSaid now I feel a lot stronger and ready to accept any decision. Thank you for the motivation, I really needed it.

@loverose4565

I’m Just happy I can help. I wish you great success wherever college you go to.

Of course tho, I hope we both get in! This wait really is TUFF but Im ready for the decision… whenever that is! ?

hey guys first time speaking in the forum but i called NYU today and spoke to an admissions counselor, the woman told me that decisions will be released this thursday and next thursday. I want to believe this 100% accurate because it was an actual admissions officer/counselor I was speaking to.

Aight I’m sick and tired of waiting now…
