Also, if you guys do have any questions or are looking for advice, feel free to email me at phil.melanson@nyu.edu … I know I wish I had someone I could ask questions to.

Again, GOOD LUCK!

They posted on the admissions site that emails will begin to be sent on Dec 15 @ 5pm, and will go through Dec 20. If you don’t find out by Dec 20, they said to call them.

Anyone watch my film?

I just did. It was really good. It looked beautiful, really professional. I understood it for the most part, but the underlying background (the wrist barcode, the manufactured people) I didnt quite get. It was intriguing. The opening is similar to mine, and a few others i have seen. For some reason us Tisch applicants seem to be obsessed with a day-in-the-life style video. I think ill upload mine sometime soon and post it here for some feedback.

Applied film ED.
Does anyone know if we can get LSPed? Thanks

From what people are saying, i believe we can, but no one here has been LSPed for film.

@jjohn42- it was great! Your actors were great, especially Death. It looked great too, what did you shoot it on? you shouldn’t worry, that was a great film and you have unmatched experience from what I can tell from the internet.

Thanks!!
Both the actors are SAG actors. I shot it with a Canon XH A1s that I borrowed from a friend.

@Mattbg–Good that you understood it mostly, makes me feel better. The film is supposed to be somewhat satirical (about how people perceive life and death) and it was supposed to be a scifi world like "the giver’’ in order to exaggerate what I was trying to say with the film, that explains the barcodes, death call, same clothes, etc.

Film def LSPs. They have a whole organization (google it, there are articles and a facebook group) that is set up to bring together LSP film students so they can make films during freshman year.

And the only reason I’m worried is because it’s kinda confusing, and also my GPA is only a 3.5 weighted, about 3.3 UW. --thats why I thought I would be LSPd.

Oh, i see what you were going for, jjohn. I bet a Tisch admissions officer would be more apt to satire than I.

I uploaded my video on youtube and sent you the private link. I didnt want it to be public in case i dont get into NYU and need to send it to another school, so no one steals it. If anyone else would like to see, give me your youtube username and ill send you the private link. Thanks in advance for taking a look.

You might need this link, im not sure how private videos work:
<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

mattbg I got your link, but I can’t sign into youtube…says the service is unavailable. I’ll try again tomorrow and give some feedback.

my film is on private too just cuz i was afraid of what people would say about it cuz of how strange the concept was. i dont wanna be made fun of because of it if i dont get in

Mattbg–I watched your film. I like the concept, and it was very well made, and looked good. Only thing I woulda done was added some music, or had it scored.

i loved your concept jjohn it was very innovative! I really hope you get in, you deserve it!

thanks. hopefully some of us will work together in the next few years…not that we would know that we were in class with ppl that we talked to on CC.

If you want, send me you film (you can share it through youtube), and I will give you some feedback.

Thanks! Idk if you had the volume up enough to hear it, jjohn, but there was a background ambient noise throughout the project that was almost all bass. It churns throughout the project until the end, when the walls disappear. I thought it was better without music, but i knew silence was a bad idea.

Hey jjohn i send you the link to my film on your profile page. gee now im nervous of what you will say ha.
