I think it does for sure. In general NYU’s rate is higher, and for example, my schools overal NYU acceptance rate is 46%, but ED it’s 65%. I would assume Tisch follows that trend. I applied because I felt I had a better chance if I was on the bubble. If you’re ED, and the committee is like "hmmmm Idk about this kid,’ they can say “well, it’s not like we have to worry about numbers at this point, lets admit him.” Where as if your on the bubble and RD theyre like “hmm this kid is on the bubble, let’s give the spot to someone who has better grades”

When I went to the Tisch open house on October, the film production admissions department said they take 250 kids out of 1400 apps, and about 1/3 of the 250 come from ED.

One thing that I think helps everyone applying for film at ED is that USC doesn’t have any early programs, so many “top” applicants may choose to apply to NYU RD not ED so they can apply to USC and decide where they want to go if they get into both. For me, I applied to USC as well, but because I’m only 45miles from NYC, it was worth applying early for a better shot of staying near home for an equal education.

Also…if anyone cares, the actors from that Disney show “Zack and Cody”/Adam Sandler film ‘Big Daddy’ are gonna be freshman at NYU next year (they differed enrollment a year). One of them is going to Tisch film…it would be kinda cool to be in class with a famous person. So yea, fun fact.

My friend told me about that…all i really care about them is that they have the absolute SICKEST cars. One has a WRX STi and the other has an Evo, both customized by West Coast Customs.

And I forgot about them saying the 40/60 or 60/40 thing…thank god for that hahaha…

And those were just examples, it could be like 30/70…but a ratio that swayed would most likely only be with the 70 for Tisch (id think a 4.4GPA can make up for complete lack of storytelling abiliy)

And wow those are sweet cars! I can only imagine what west coast custom did with that Evo wow!! And I know I’m a girl and my knowledge of cars isn’t huge but I love evos!

Then you have great taste in cars. I drive a lancer and i looooooooove it! I think theres a video online of those cars, they did it for some show. Idt they did too much with the engines, but they totally redid the interior (which, to be honest, is a huge improvement for both cars) and added a stupidly awesome sound system.

Hahah yeah wow but come on, what would a west coast custom car be without a insane sound system. My friends got a Subaru STI and those are pretty fun to drive wildly in I have a jeep wrangler I love just driving over everything right now, snow piles are my best friend

I can’t wait for snow…i got the Lancer with a lower-powered version of the Evo engine, the Evo’s AWD system, and the Evo’s semiautomatic transmission, so it has the Evo’s Snow mode.

And I’m gonna apply to Emerson if i get rejected. I’d rather not go to Emerson; I want a strong liberal arts foundation in addition to film, and Emerson is almost all Film.

Hey lostspaz! I’m kind of in the same situation as you…absolutely love film and filming, but never had the resources to get our there and shoot some great films for festivals and such.
However, I have a pretty average SAT score: 570 CR, 580 M, 690 WR (1850). What, if I may ask, were yours? I’m worried this may let me down, because I expected to do better, but ended up very disappointed.

wow leonidas im just like you too! i never had the resources to go out and do that or the money to take those film programs at nyu or usc i hope i still can get in.
