NYU Transfer Fall 2021

some people think this Monday was the big wave but I think we should see what happens next Monday to really see. It’s really about major cause some programs have heard nothing while others have quite a few acceptances.

I don’t feel like there has been one yet. Last year on May 12 which was the big wave it felt like 75% of the kids on the board had an answer. A few came a week later, a very few. This year its been handfuls every Monday. the vast majority of you guys (including my daughter) still have no answer. She called AO today and was told her app is still under review. Whatever that means. They gave her no timeline at all for an answer which doesn’t feel promising to me at all. Last year rejections came out June 5. If the big wave isn’t next week then I have no clue anymore what they are doing.

what was ur gpa as a bio major?

UHHHH GUYS, theyre arent admitting waitlists for nyu. they just sent an email to waitlist people, im worried about us now…or should i not worry

this is the email

I’ve honestly been concerned since there have only been small handfuls of acceptances each week. I’m not encouraged for my D at this point. I think if she doesn’t get positive news next week then it’s just a wait for the official rejection.

3.87 but tbh I didn’t think I would have gotten into bcs my extra curricular activities are not that great

I wouldn’t worry yet. That’s for the freshman class and that class shouldn’t affect transfer numbers too much since transfers don’t get/use NYU housing (since transfers aren’t being offered housing as far as I know) or course enrollment numbers because they’re taking intro classes where the transfers are more upper level. What could be an issue is if study abroad kids aren’t going for example. And how many gap students are returning. Also how many international kids can get visas might have some influence as well. That being said the transfer admissions rollout and the communication about it has been pretty dismal in many schools this cycle. I really don’t understand why the AO refuses to be be more transparent about the timing and status of the process. Just creates such unnecessary stress!

Sorry for the long post. And good luck to all still waiting! Patience seems to be the word of this admissions cycle.

Ohmy im actually convinced now i dont think im gonna make it this looks so scary I couldn’t read the whole thing but i think i got the idea. So should we start looking for other schools and forget about nyu or what

Wait im confused what class is that? Cus they from what i read they are talking about the whole admission process

i think just class of 2025 right? cause i havent seen any waitlist yet for transfers…

its just for class of 2025, the transfer process is different

I read that as an email to the freshman class. Did waitlisted transfers receive it too?

there aren’t any waitlist transfers yet. Only acceptances

Ok so my original analysis stands. What happens with the freshman class should have little to no influence on the transfer situation.
