I want to say something to all of you guys. I feel very bonded to all of you in this process and feel joy for those of you accepted and stress right along with you all waiting for your decision. I want to share with you all what I said to my daughter today because I have every certainty that it’s true for all of you as well.
Be very proud of all that you have accomplished and most of all submitting that crazy application for NYU. I read my daughter’s essays (which I thought were exceptional) and watched her portfolio video (also fantastic). Know that you’ve accomplished so much just with the complete application. I know others who bailed half way through. And finally if NYU says no, it is certainly their loss and there is a better and brighter path out there for all of you. TRUST IN THAT!!! Things will work out in an amazing way for all of you just keep the faith!! My daughter feels very grounded in however it shakes out knowing that the path for her is unfolding however that may look.

What concentration of Music Theory and Composition are you applying for? I feel like the answer may depend on which one you applied to.
I’m not sure if they did interviews this year. I applied for Screen Scoring, and interviews for transfers are by invitation only. Whether or not you get one doesn’t determine acceptance/rejection. They only do an interview if they’d like to know more information on you/your portfolio.
I don’t know how they do things for Concert Composition or Songwriting, but they should have that info on the “How to Apply” page for each specific concentration.

Okay so Tisch question/a little rambling:
So transfers into Tisch (specifically Tisch Drama) basically have to start their class track over, with the exception of GE’s; this is due to the specificity of some things taught in those classes (ie. Various acting techniques for drama students). Therefore, does the email to waitlisted students mean that transfers into Tisch should fear the same thing?
Follow up: in my audition, they told us that Tisch drama (or maybe it was Tisch as a whole; I’m not 100% sure) reserves spots specifically for transfer students. So in short: how worried/concerned should I be right now about this entire email thing and how much does it really effect us Tisch transfers?

the least that nyu could do is send us a welcome packet if we get in especially bc all this waiting is making us anxious

Omg thank you so much for your kind works same i feel so connected to everyone here even tho i barely know yall but im so glad this thread made us come together. I really hope we all get in so we can celebrate together. I feel like it is going to be hard for us if anyone didn’t make it so i really hope we all get in we truly deserve it. Even if they are better options for us i still want nyu to accept us but thank u so much i hope the best for your daughter

They might send cus i got accepted into other unis and they sent me so many stuff but all i wanna see is the purple envelope or u can request one i think

yale didnt send me anything yet and i got in last week :((
honestly I don’t think they do which is really annoying bc we got in just like all the first years did
