i feel like above all the essays are what really matter than the grades. thats what ive heard
Yes, don’t worry. One of my score was a B so it will be alright
One thing i don’t understand is how were they able to release freshmen decisions within 2 months even though they received 100k+ applications this year? And they cant even release transfer decisions in 2 months when there r only like 10-15k applications max!
Wait that kinda makes sense. But i feel like all schools give more attention to freshmen students and for us transfer its kinda different
yes but still. There is a HUGE difference and their transfer acceptance rate is higher so it should be easier to submit results lol
you made several points
Frrr
Any update on albert?
Transfers partly (mostly?) depend on the space freed up by students who for whatever reason are not returning …dropping out, changing college, changing school within nyu etc. They don’t know who all those are yet. They’ll have a better idea on that, I think, after fall registration for returning students opens next week.
omg I just wanted to take a second to write this out bc I’m hoping it relieves some stress (I’m really hoping it does I know we’re all so stressed about this.) But I really believe that NYU takes the holistic approach really seriously. I ended HS with around a 2.7 GPA (Yikes, I know but I suffer from pretty serious mental health issues which were explained throughout my application.) And I ended the first semester of my college with somewhere above a 3.0 but not above a 3.2. With my first transfer app, even though I sound like an instant rejection, I still ended up getting a waitlist. Now that isn’t the ultimate flex but at least they saw me to be qualified enough to receive a waitlist. I didn’t have impressive grades, my SAT wasn’t the best, and I didn’t have many extracurriculars. I can only imagine how hard you guys have worked over the past few years, and I can tell that a lot of people in this thread sound like really qualified applicants. I’m not denying that grades are important, but I just wanted to remind you guys that NYU prides itself in its holistic approach and I am more than confident that everyone in this thread has something they can offer to this world and to the institution. Think about how you guys are all rooting for each other regardless of the circumstance, that sounds like something NYU would really value. Think about all the other experiences you’ve had outside of the classroom and how they molded you to become who you are today. Think about how we’re all collectively sharing the trauma of going through this pandemic and how this will help us become more resilient in the future. You guys all sound like wonderful people, so even though this process is entirely out of our control, I want everyone to pat themselves on the back for getting through this awful wait. And regardless of the decisions, I’m really glad I found this thread to ease my stress!!! I’m wishing all of you guys the best, and I’m hoping we hear back next Monday! Only a couple more days guys!
Omg this is the cutest thing ever. This really touched my heart. Thank youuuu for that. I actually agree with everything you said and I feel like all of us became connected and im glad nyu was the reason for that. Filing out the application was already enough. We did everything we can and I am pretty sure we will all gonna get rewarded for the hard work. I have really went thru a lot as well and i feel like getting into nyu is going to be counted as a reward for myself and I would finally feel proud that I have accomplished something I really wanted to do. I really wish the AO would see this chat and know how great we are and how committed we are to get into nyu. I feel like we would all make a great community there and I really hope to see that as soon as possible goodluck everyone
Aw this is the sweetest thing ever🥺
First of all, thank you so much for sharing your story and what you have been through. Thank you for making us feel less overwhelmed and make us think about our other qualities beyond just academics.
I really appreciate and respect everyone here and how serious we are about this. This is what I call a “community”. You can feel the support, love, and comfort in this simple chat from people we have never met before ( or may have lol). I wanted to say plz dont forget who you rlly are deep down and this isn’t the end of it. We are all in this together and we all make top applicants and we add value to nyu. This is something NYU should see beyond just our application💜
I’m proud of everyone for making it this far and im sure every single one of us will end up somewhere we truly deserve and meant to be at🤍this is the beginning to so many many more opportunities🥰
Just wondering if submitting my spring term grades will affect the time of getting the result
I just submitted mine lets hope it doesn’t affect anything lolz
Am i the only one who overthinks everytime i submit a document and cant view it after i submit it that i submitted smth wrong lool
HAHAH max relate lolllll, thats me every f time
I called the NYU undergraduate admissions office to ask about when admissions decisions are out. They basically gave the same response saying everything is on a rolling basis randomly and that we should have our decisions by the end of the month or early June. That’s a huge problem for me at least since I have to commit to some particular school by June 1st.
i’m in the exact same boat, let’s hope it’ll come out by the end of the month
Omg i realized today is the 21st. I thought the end of this month is in like three weeks or smth ah damn that means if not next week then imma go crazy
yeah hopefully. Chances for me even being accepted are slim.
