For other tisch applicants, what are your guys’ backup plans? I got into Emerson for film and I’m supposed to commit by June 1 but I’m still waiting to hear back from USC as well as NYU. I’m just not totally sold on Emerson tho.
Last year, fall registration for returning students started April 20. This year, it starts May 24. I am very sure this is why many responses are later this year. They still need to see where they are going to have space for transfers.

Then they can at least tell us it’ll all be in june so we expect to wait that long or give us a set date. This process is messing w everyone’s head
im straight up depressed right now. barnard just rejected me and i think columbia will too, so im really hoping nyu pulls through :((

honestly this is kinda comforting, ik waiting sucks but at least not getting an answer now isn’t a definite rejection

My backup plan is to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute Conservatory. If I can’t learn at NYU Tisch, then I might as well learn from the studio that reached me most when I took classes with them. I have already been accepted there and I will attend if NYU denies me.
btw Lee Strasberg is one of the actin studios within NYU. It may not get me a degree or be NYU, but at least ill learn from a proven institute that happens to be associated with NYU

for everyone saying that they need to commit to a college by a deadline but want to wait to hear back their decision from NYU, you can just commit to that college for right now and deregister if and when u get into NYU. i’ve talked with someone who got into nyu as a transfer and had to do the same thing (i am doing this as well).

For anyone who has already gotten in, just wondering how many credits of urs transferred. My best friend got accepted on Monday and he’s disappointed because they didn’t take a lot of his credits.
Also, has anyone else applied to any other nyc schools ?
they should say on the pages of the specific major how many credits they accept max per major. like Ik they only accepted a limited number of psychology credits

I’m a tisch applicant and my backup is uc berkeley, i already paid the deposit for Cal but I’m waiting to hear back form USC and NYU. I really hoping i get in NYU because of the program I applied to (which is nonexistent at USC and Cal)
i applied to nyack college but that’s about it
rejected from 2 of the 3 nyc schools i applied to. my only hope is nyu right now :")
