For people who got waitlisted, did y’all get the email about the decisions coming out by January 20th? Because the letter says by August 1st, so I’m just confused.

Hi guys. D was rejected as well. She is really shocked - she felt very confident about her app but music is a very subjective thing so who knows what they were looking for. She will be fine, she just has to figure out next steps and her path moving forward since she literally put all of her eggs into the NYU basket and didn’t apply anywhere else.
You all will be better off for this I promise you! You have a very bright future ahead and in time you’ll look back on this and realize that some of the best things that are in your life wouldn’t be had you gotten into NYU!

holistic process. undergraduate applications are unpredictable. i was in the same spot everyone was in 2 weeks ago for columbia when i got rejected. it felt like an absolute nightmare but after a few days i got better.
you guys will feel better in a few days i promise. first few days will be rough but time will move on, and so will you! undergraduate schools do not determine ANYTHING. You guys can succeed at a 4 year state school, community college…anywhere.
Please keep your heads up, take a break from your phone and just relax. I don’t really know any of you but it was amazing to connect with so many nice souls. I wish all of you the best
