I think so….two years ago they sent out a WL letter that said they were taking a “very small” amount of WL students, last year they said “small,” and this year they didnt say that at all…combined with the lower applications…makes me think they will be using waitlist much more aggressively to fill spots. (Hopefully!)

School made a mistake on my transcript, I emailed them about it but haven’t gotten a solid response (I want them to correct it and resend the transcript, they said a bunch of things about the deadline and how it was my problem not emailing them ahead although I didn’t have access to it), should I directly email NYU or should I wait for the school?

damn, i have a feeling that not a lot of ppl are gonna accept tho.
c/o 2024 all have amazing stats for some reason and lots of ppl got into rlly rlly good schools from what ive seen and they probs rejected nyu for those schools.
along with the rising violence in new york especially in that area parents and guardians probably don’t want to put their child in that situation (also mostly from my own experiences and stuff i’ve seen, i used to live in ny)

Correct…and total decreased. And from what I can gather they had lower ED1 & 2 acceptance rate, but then increased the acceptance a tad on RD…but only enough to still maintain their 8% total.
BUT we all know RD yield isnt 100% yield like ED is. Which would mean more spots would be available from WL.

Thats what my COUNSELOR and ENGLISH teacher did too. Like im pretty pissed abt it but the information is still right and they still made it very detailed, its jst sounds flowery. As long as the info is correct, u dont need to worry.

My son is waitlisted at Columbia, if accepted there will be one more spot for someone NYU. Where he accepted placement just in case. But Columbia is his 1st choice! Good luck everyone!

I can try to find the posts, but it may take me a bit. They were on this site’s thread from last year and the year before when the WL ppl like us talk about the email that they got from NYU re: the WL.
Did anyone here get off the waitlist yet?
