Odds of being off the waitlist?

I waitlisted in february for animal science pre vet. I have a 3.7 weighted gpa, 7 ap classes, 4 honors classes and I have local preference. Any ideas if i would be accepted or not? Does anyone have an estimate of when their decisions would be released.

In general, waitlist admits will not be posted until after the SIR deadline since they need to know how many spots are available.

The number of admits will vary from year to year so there is no way to know your chances.

Waitlist data for the last 3 years from the CDS.

2023:
Number of waitlisted applicants: 1807
Number of opt ins: 925
Number admitted: 791

2022:
Number of waitlisted applicants: 10,742
Number of opt ins: 4468
Number admitted: 381

2021:
Number of waitlisted applicants: 3996
Number of opt ins: 1851
Number admitted: 152

Last year’s animal science threshold was 4483, equivalent to a 4.033 GPA as recalculated for CSU purposes (10th-11th grade a-g courses, up to 8 semesters of honors +1 points). (The points are GPA * 1000 + 450.)

What is not stated on CPP’s web site is what the point value for local area is, so it is impossible to know how close you were to last year’s threshold. Of course, this year’s threshold can be different.

Chance of getting off the waitlist depends on how close you are to this year’s threshold, and whether the animal science major and the campus overall underyield.
