I think it’s in the “You’ve qualified for Early Action” e-mail. Also, if you have gotten mail from the university inviting you to events and such, it will be right above the address bar

thanks ! and also is this a good or bad deferred letter

After multiple individualized and comprehensive evaluations of your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2012, we believe that you have something uniquely valuable to contribute to our campus. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date.

Your application will be re-evaluated, and a final decision will be made based on how your credentials and academic achievements contribute to the composition and quality of this year’s freshman applicant pool. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012.

Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may enhance your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.

wolverine access does in fact show my decision now. the link that was originally covered over is now available.

bad one. the good one does not mention sending any grades in.

Did you get an email 818215?

Lindsy are you sure? It says it on mine after my um Id and stuff

Ug I want the email

its a good one

bad one doesnt have the word “deferred” based on last year people

and just you know, every “deferred” people need to send

some people just dont get it

I asked Michigan to withdraw my application on Friday, guess they didn’t get the e-mail on time. I got into Penn ED so I doubt that there’s a “bad” or “good” deferral letter even though admissions is a crapshoot.

I also was accepted to U of M, but I was accepted into Northwestern ED so I am going to have to withdraw my acceptance from U of M. Good job to everyone who was accepted, good luck to those who were deferred or rejected.

Okay, so yesterday i was accepted but today i am completely heart broken because my best friend got deferred. He is very competitive with an ACT of 33 and a GPA of 3.67… His defer letter is different than everyone else’s… Were confused it read:

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, it is still good news. Your application is one of a group that remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012.

Why is this different? What does this mean? Are his chances better than most deferrals? Are they worse? WE NEED ANSWERS lol

yeah im sure. mine doesn’t mention my uofm ID or anything or sending in any grades and people last year who got this email got in within a week sometimes.

Good or Bad? It’s slightly different…

looks like this posted when bbrower21 posted, they are alike…

bad one. but the bad one doesnt mean you wont get in. the ‘good deferral’ people will just get in before you.

Lindsay I completely disagree that its a bad one. It says you are in a select group. The so called “good” one does not. I think I much rather be in a select group than a conglomeration of deferrals. Maybe I’m interpreting this wrong, but thats just me.

What makes you guys think there’s a good or bad one? There’s differences obviously, but from what I can see, any of 'em can be construed as good or bad.

Still not buying the good/bad deferral theories as there is no evidence to suggest anything other than last year some people with both letters were admitted shortly after.

I think that the letters are all are quite similar and they probably just change a couple of things around so everyone doesn’t get the same thing

Just got this which is different… is that good or bad??
