*Official Class of 2016 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread*

deferred :(

Still nothing for me.

Came back to another email in my inbox, but it turned out to be from Drexel. They aren’t sending anything out on Sunday I’d imagine, right?

People are withdrawing their apps already?!?!?!!

and my friend was just deferred from kinesiology and he WAS asked for his 1st semester grades… so don’t say its just a kinesiology thing.

deferred.
i thought the way they sent out their e-mails was completely random, but it turns out that everyone who got an e-mail on friday got accepted and it seems from here on out everyone else got deferred / rejected.

at least that’s what i got out of it.

yeah because they did ED to other schools

Does Michigan use unweighted gpa or weighted? because in 2009 they said that they no longer recalculate your gpa

I got Deferred today at 1:30. OOS (Southern California)

My WA still doesn’t have my decision, and since yesterday it has had a bunch of ? icons all over it. Does anyone else have this problem?

D at 4:33 pm on 12/17/11 deferred from LSA. We’re on Long Island, NY

At least I got the good deferral letter

you did luna27? copy and paste it to prove to these people its not just kines

I think the “good” deferral letter is different for every school…

Am I right in thinking there won’t be any decisions sent out tomorrow?

Finally got my D!!!

is it sad that people are getting excited over deferrals now? lol

@Lindsyoxo well, better than getting excited over rejections xDDD ahaha. I’m glad that even though I may not have gotten in, I still have a chance. :)

Dear Emilie:

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2012. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, it is still good news. Your application is one of a group that remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012.

Please refer to the website www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.

Be sure your U-M ID XXXXXXXXX is on all materials submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Because you are in this select group, we hope your interest in Michigan continues, and we will keep you informed of our progress. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Theodore L. Spencer
Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director

yeah @luna27 same exact letter ^o^ yayy!!

Yay so this is the best one right? I have done some research are found out there are 3 types of letters.

For LSA, I do believe this is the good deferral haha. My friends that applied for engineering got something similar, but one had grades in the 1st paragraph, and the other one was like ours.
