no it is not the best one. the best one does not ask for grades.

i’ll have my friend fwd me the one he got from lsa that does not ask for semester grades

Lindsey can you stop bringing people down. Obviously everybody is seeing their own light at the end of the tunnel and you’re adamant about proving them wrong. Let it be.

okay guys… i guess my friend lied because he actually has the same email that all you guys have.

@luna27 could you please post the three types of letters?? i got the one u say is the good one but i just want to see the other types to compare…

also i got that letter and didn’t get ask for 7th semester grades on WA even though in the lather it does say to send them… so idk… what does that mean???

@lindsyoxo lol nice.
My friend from engineering got the bad one. straight up asks for grades in the first paragraph :/

EVERYBODY. Stop over analyzing. We are all deferred. It is ONE boat. There is no deferral better than the other. We are all being reconsidered over time. Each individual school as a different letter. Stop comparing. We just have to wait it out.

well i think each school is different maybe. i got deferred from kines so mine did not ask, but my friend who got deferred from kines got asked. but it seems like all you LSA kids have to send in your 7th semester grades just because there is so many of you.

I’ve lost all hope. I’m honestly just preparing myself to be rejected on Monday.

Can someone post the “good” deferral email?

Ahhh…just got deffered!
Id like to take it in the positive way that at least I haven’t got denied ![]()
I had applied to the college of engineering. My mail just said Michigan is very competitive blah blah blah and that i have been deffered. And then towards the end it said to send in any additional information that may be benefitial. That’s all.
Weelllll, we will have to wait and see. Nothing else we can do.
Best of luck everyone :)

@Bonjangles 13 you are right… i should stop thinking about this and go write my paper and study for finals since that is grades are what’s going to make a difference… at least for LSA students like me…

I’m taking my deferral with a grain of salt. I was ****ed off beyond belief at first, but I’ve calmed down. I just gotta work to improve what I can. We also have to consider all the Ivy Leaguers who got accepted in place of all the deferrals who are rescinding their applications and declining acceptances. Michigan was their safety school, but they weaseled their way in still in place of us, which is a shame. But their outstanding credentials allowed. Regardless, don’t lose hope. We got this. Go Blue!

I am stunned I got deferred. I have a 2350 SAT, 35 ACT, and a 3.87UW GPA, 4.75W GPA.

I was using U Michigan as a safety.

maybe they thought you were too good for them?? or maybe like someone said earlier they didn’t get through all the apps so they just send defers. to all those students… idk you have really good credentials so don’t worry it will all work out…

go to this old thread from last year it explains it!!

@StanfordCS ive heard they defer overqualified people because they dont want a reputation of being “a safety for ivy leaguers” …i think if you sent in the supplemental stuff they suggest to show youre serious youd be accepted!!

How the hell do they know if I’m using it as a safety or not?

judging on your attitude towards Michigan, your supplemental essays were probably weak, or not near to the standard of your regular CommonApp. This shows them that you were using them as a safety.

IMO, I should have been accepted. My SAT scores far exceed Michigan’s 75th percentile, my GPA is high, my class rank is stellar, my rec letters were stellar.

I am shocked.
